Remembering the Forgotten

I Have Friends?

Nurse- "wake up Amber, today your friends are visiting."

A soft voice coming from your right wakes you up.

You open your hazy eyes just to see jasmine, your nurse, getting your medicine from the cabinet across the room. The same exact sight you see every day. Plain white walls, a greyish-blue floor, and a window behind you. The only sight that you can see out the window is the field infront of a forest. You turn your head back forward just to see jasmine giving you two pills. Painkillers. You have to take them every 4 hours, otherwise you'll overdose. Well you don't have to worry about that, because you don't take them anyway.

Jasmine gives you a glass of water.

Jasmine- "Come on, just 2 more days and you'll be out. They've already finished your papers, they just need to find someone to take you home."

"really? I thought there was much more time left to leave. *gulp* I-i thought it would've been probably like 3 more months."

Jasmine- "Well judging by your state, which isn't that bad, they figured you'd be good to go."

"Hm."

Handing the empty glass of water back to jasmine, you sit up on the bed. Since she's already left to go to the kitchen you stand up and almost trip.

You walk up to the mirror and proceed to stare. You think to yourself about how dumb the corpse staring back at you looks.

You start to unwrap the bandage from around your eye, but you get suddenly interrupted by jasmine, walking back into the room while you frantically wrap it back around your face.

Jasmine- "I'm back."

You stand there still staring into the mirror for a second.

"Jasmine?"

Jasmine- "Yes, Amber?"

"When will they let me take off my bandages?"

Jasmine- "I presume tommorow. Why?"

"I don't know... I just want to see...ME again."

Jasmine chuckled as she went to the door, but stopped midway.

Jasmine- "I think your friends are here. I'm just going to head down to the office and check."
