Eve wiped of her sweaty palms on her T-shirt as she waited for Charles to open the door. She had one chance to set things straight, she can not mess this up. She might loose him forever if she does so. Not that she ever actually had him, but damn it was close, so close. She would never be able to forgive herself if she'd let him walk away. Charles was everything she wished for in a guy and more, fuck he was perfect.

A couple of noises could be heard from inside and a couple later the door opened slightly and Charles poked his head out, still debating whether he wanted to let her in or close the door again and cry in his bed. Pathetic, I know. He thought to himself but he just couldn't help it. He had grown so attached to her over these past weeks. Charles blamed himself, maybe if he had asked her out sooner none of this would've happened.

He opened the door completely and quietly stepped aside to let her in. The Monegasque studied the young woman's features as she sat down on his couch. She didn't look too good, very pale. He was going to ask her, you know. That day. He was on his way to meet her but then Callum...... Charles frustratedly ran his fingers through his hair. Fucking Callum.

"I didn't know-". Charles's head shot up as Eve spoke up, desperately trying to find the right words to say. "I didn't want-". Eve closed her eyes, forcing herself to take a deep breath. "It was never my intention to-". A tear slipped from her eyes as she looked up at him. The pain she caused hurt more than words could ever describe. But it was at this point that Charles realised it wasn't her who caused that pain, it was Callum.

Callum hurt him but the worst of all, he hurt Eve. That's something Charles would never be able to forgive him for. Charles rushed down the room and kneeled in front of Eve, taking her shaking hands into his, staring deep into her brown eyes. "I swear I didn't know he was going to kiss me", she says after exhaling sharply, actively trying to avoid Charles' piercing yellow eyes. "Eve, look at me please", Charles begged.

Hesitantly Eve looked at him, scared of the words that might leave his lips, words she didn't want to hear even though she knew she couldn't blame him for saying them. But the look in Charles' eyes reassured her he was never going to say such words to her. "I am so sorry", she muttered. Charles sighed. "You have nothing to apologise for, I realise that now". He squeezed her hands gently. "I should be the one apologising to you, I shouldn't have been so stubborn and just listened to your side of the story". "What? Charles no!". Eve looks at him wide eyed. "That might be the stupidest thing you've ever said", she then chuckled. Charles shrugged, "Yeah well but that list isn't that long". "Pff as if". The pair smiled at each other. "No but seriously, I don't blame you, you acted on emotions. I would've done the same", Eve reassured him.

"So you punched him right?", Charles asked jokingly after a while. "Oh yes definitely", Eve grinned. "And so did Pierre". "Expected nothing less from him", Charles laughs. That laugh was music to her ears, like that one song you'll never get tired off. The dimples in his cheeks and the twinkle in his beautiful eyes as he laughs set off fireworks in her stomach but still somewhere in the back of her head was this voice telling her that Charles was never fully going to forgive her for what happened. Charles seemed to pick up on that and took her face in his hands, reassuring her once again that it was okay. He found himself staring deep into her eyes again and couldn't help but letting his eyes wander over her features, getting stuck on her lips. Charles wasn't sure if this was the right thing to do right now but his instinct took over and there was no going back as he slowly inched closer to her.

Feeling his hot breath against her skin sent shivers down her spine, their noses touching.  "Breath", he whispered, his lips slightly touching hers as he did so. Eve couldn't do anything else but stare into his eyes, she found herself drowning in them and without realising she spoke in all honesty "I forgot how". Charles chuckled. He had never seen her this flustered before. He pressed a soft kiss on her lips and pulled back slightly, waiting for her to react. He didn't have to wait long. Eve closed her eyes and decided to make the jump, call it leap of faith.

She was letting herself fall, fully trusting on Charles to catch her.
