I am relieved to say I posted this in my facebook account before. Also, I am glad that when you deactivate facebook, it still keeps some memories stored. So, yea.

This is the introduction to the musical play I wrote for our English requirement called More than a Familiar Tale. If you haven't noticed already, I like making stories with moral lessons in them. Enjoy.

Once in a land of black and white, there was a bird of colors.

Flightless as she is, she did not mind.

Her colors emanated beauty in everyone’s eyes.

She was envied by all, the only one of her kind.

One fateful night, rain poured in.

The colorful bird did not see a puddle, she slipped right in.

Her colors washed away and flowed down the stream.

Every other bird shouted: Dive in!

The colorful bird tried to gather her colors.

But it flowed too fast. Her walk did not matter.

The others could fly. They soared right in.

All the birds dove into the colorful stream.

The colorful bird was not colorful anymore.

Her feathers of rainbow were no longer adored.

Each bird had its own color and they, all, could fly.

The colorful bird was left behind.

The colorful bird was aghast.

The others leaving made her realize at last,

She was simply unique in one pathetic way:

The others could fly. She, still, can’t.

So, here is the end of my story.

This is the beginning of a new journey.

Pay attention to every detail.

This is more than a familiar tale.
