august 27, 1996"it's good that we get to go out once in a while."
octavia looked up to her friend, almost tripping over her own feet.
"maegan, in theory, we can go anywhere in the world without lifting a finger" joked octavia with a small laugh
"You're right, but we haven't hung out in a while" responded Maegan softly
the two girls were walking through a large meadow nearby Octavia's castle. Ever since they were little, they would walk through this same meadow to have picnics. Octavia and Maegan found their usually spot to settle and laid a blanket down.
"you only brought bread?" asked maegan in disbelief.
"Yes, I said that you were in charge of the food this time," octavia explained,
"no" maegan cried while checking her bag for any food.
"oh well, it doesn't matter anyways." reassured octavia
it was silent for a little bit until maegan updated octavia on the latest gossip.
"did you here that pansy got ruined her sister's sixteenth birthday? Apparently her and her friends got drunk as hell and Pansy screamed at her mother." exclaimed Maegan.
"stop, you're joking right?" Octavia asked.
"nope, apparently she barged in, wasted, may I add, and screamed at her mother saying she was sick of being overlooked."
"oh shit, I have to go," said Maegan "My mom wants me home for dinner" she continued while picking up her things to go.
"oh ok, write me, ok?" octavia pleaded
"yea, bye octavia, love ya"
"Bye maegy, love ya' more." teased Octavia
octavia loved being being alone. she adored her friends and family, but sometimes the best way to unwind is reading a book with a cappuccino in arms' reach.
the curly haired girl walked to the quaint town near the meadow right at the foot of the anglovian mountains. her castle was perched on top of a cliff, overlooking a large lake. the castle was a beautiful eggshell white, while still keeping a vintage feeling to it. In contrast, the roof tiles were an electric blue.
octavia walked through the town. anglovia was really a melting pot of cultures, many people immigrated there after the king disappeared mysteriously.
mysteriously.
anyways, that's besides the point. octavia walked into her favorite coffee shop in town. she never really got recognized, no one knew what she looked like.
she walked up the the ordering counter and a girl asked with a heavy scottish accent, "Hi Via, the usual?"
"yes katie, thank you" responded Octavia in her usual sweet voice
Octavia made her way towards the back of the coffee shop, and with a quick glance, she noticed all the tables were full.
her anti-social side literally screamed internally. with a heavy heart, octavia walked up the a girl reading a book called "all the young dudes."
"may I sit here please? All the other tables are full" she requested.
"Oh sure, go ahead" muttered the random girl, without looking up from her book.
octavia and the girl sat in silence, for the most part.
"I'm octavia, by the way."
"cool."
they must really must be into that book.
"what're you reading?"
"It's called All the Young Dudes, it's a classic in my book," responded the girl
"I've never heard of it. Is it good?" inquired Octavia
"would I call it a classic if it wasn't?" they retorted, "here, you can have it" they handed the thick book to Octavia.
"I'm peyton" she introduced
"Do you come here often octavia?" Peyton inquired
"I come here almost everyday, it's never this busy" chuckled Octavia
the two girls chatted for what seemed like hours, until the got kicked out of the coffee shop by katie.
"-and they were roommates" finished octavia
"ok, my mother wants me home like," Peyton checked her watch, "now."
"wait, let me give you my address so we can keep in touch" chimed Octavia
She took out a pen and a sticky note out and quickly wrote down her address.
Princess Octavia of Anglovia
Havenglow Castle, Highest Window of the Highest Tower
Anglovia, EU 84027
octavia's cheeful voice interrupted peyton's confused train of thought.
"your owl will know where to go" she blurted out, "anyways, I'll see you around" octavia turned around to skip back home.
"wait, it's literally raining, do you need a ride-?" peyton yelled at octavia, but she was already gone.
peyton stared at the sticky note in her hand in disbelief.
