took the last name kitani, creating what's known as the kitani empire. and throughout the kitani bloodline, they were blessed with a power that could rival their worst enemies.
however, in order to keep the powers only in their bloodline, out of all the siblings that were birthed from the emperor and his many wives, only one was allowed to live.
though that ideal had long expired.
with a medicine that only the emperor possesses, it will be given to those that fail to inherit the throne.
that meant that each sibling would be competing through literature, musical and artistic talent, swordsmanship, and other factors that'll determine their readiness to handle the throne.
currently, the 576th emperor — kitani nobukazu — has five children, each with their own abilities that has been seen in previous kitani heirs and heiresses.
and the most outstanding candidate will deserve to keep their powers as a trophy.
