𝐈𝐭 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐬𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝟏𝟗𝟗𝟑 and Cynthia Prince lay wide awake thought on her bed. Tears streaming down her face.
She could not believe that it all happened more than 13 years ago. Time sure does fly by. She wiped her tears and left her bedroom for some fresh air. She returned to her room and sat up straight on her bed, suddenly Marina came in.
"Mom?" she said. "Were you crying again?"No" Cynthia replied, "I'm fine.". "Stop lying, mom. I saw you." Marina said. Cynthia just nodded.
Marina got into the bed, lay her head on her mother's lap, and held her hand. Cynthia looked down at her daughter and smiled. She remembered the first time she held Marnie in her hands, she had brought joy to her and Roman's life.
Thinking of Roman he loved Marnie although she wasn't his. She looked at Marnie's and examined her features, she reminded her a lot of her sister Ophelia. Then she looked in her eyes, those stormy grey eyes that reminded Cynthia of Marnie's biological father ... Sirius Black.
Soon after Marnie fell asleep, Cynthia got out of bed and took out the old album she had. She flipped a few pages till she found a few pictures of her and Lily. She was her best friend until her death. A few tears slipped from her eyes.
Suddenly the muggle telephone started ringing loudly, her mother in law would have never allowed such a thing in her house but sadly she passed away when Marnie was just 6.
She picked up the telephone. "Hello?" she said. "Hello, Cynthia is that you, it's urgent?" the person asked. "What? Why? What's wrong Dorothy?" Cynthia asked? "It's about Sirius," she replied. "Oh Dorothy you know I don't talk about him anymore I just want to forget about him," Cynthia said sighing. "No, it's not that he, he has escaped from Azkaban," she said.
"What?" Cynthia said in surprise. "No, but how could he do it, no one can escape from Azkaban," "I know, I know but he did and now I'm scared for you and Marnie, what will you do?" Dorothy said. "I don't know I think I will request Dumbledore for protection," Cynthia replied. "I am not sure Cindy I mean he escaped Azkaban," Dorothy said. "I think I might need your help to come to my house tomorrow," Cynthia replied exhausted. "Sure darling, good night!" she said. "Good night," Cynthia said.
That night she didn't sleep at all. All she could think about was Sirius and Marnie. She knew that her daughter was not safe here any longer. She feared what would happen if Sirius found out. Perhaps the time had come to send Marnie to Walburga. But for now all she could do now was hope Sirius never finds Marnie.
