Venus looked up from her book. "Oh, Andy, you're here." A little quizzical at a sudden appearance of the long-haired mechanic appeared on her face, but she hid by looked down at her notebook. "What are you doing?" Andy put her hands stiffly into her overall pockets, covered in oil stains. "Nothing."
, Was her reply, now trying to suck herself back into A Slow Burning Fire. But Andy just wouldn't let go. "Cool, cool. Wanna get something to eat, we're on break right now!" Venus shook her head. "I had my lunch. I couldn't find you, so I decided to eat all my sushi and rice." Andy nodded. "Your Mom has nice cooking. Her Japanese meals are just perfect."
"Hey Andy, I think I'm going to continue reading." Venus was signaling to her to leave her alone. Andy nodded, and walked away.During geometry class, Venus scrolled on Instagram. New Ariana Grande post. Wow, She thought, her new fragrance is out. Ms. Wright was in front of her desk, slapping down her geometry book. "Hand over the phone, young lady." Venus slipped her phone into her teacher's hands, and miserably flipped to the page they were studying the metric system on. She blocked out the class giggling, trying not to listen to their laughs that rang into her ears. But she couldn't hold it all in her full, pained heart. "Shut up, I don't wanna listen to this shit!" Everything was silent; Venus's shout echoed through the room.
The waiting room for seeing the principal was full of bouquets of flowers, yearbooks, and working employees. Gray carpeting was underneath her sneakers. Valid Victorians' were on the walls, in gold frames. The wall were filled with them, making those white walls looking lively, not dull or boring. Venus grabbed a yearbook, and flipped to her freshman year photo. That pixie cut of pink glided softly on her neck, stopping shortly halfway through, as a tiny, single strand. Those necklaces of silver popped with her black, leather jean jacket and mom jeans. Andy was way more fancy; lavender shirt, and white skirt with heels. Nobody had ever seen her like that before. And she liked her outfit so much, that she kept it on when they were changing for gym.
"Venus, the principal is ready for you." A tall, thin woman peered behind a corner sheepishly. As she disappeared behind the white, her blonde ponytail swung back and forth. She was pretty, but too shy for my type. People thought Venus herself was shy; but merely, she didn't have many friends.
She stood, and slipped open the door into the office room, facing a bright, happy-faced woman. "Hello, Venus!" She exclaimed; Principal Divine. "Hi, Principal Divine." I sat in a chair, facing her bookshelves. "Let's get to business. I heard you called out during your class, as people laughed at you. With an inappropriate word for school. Also, using your phone in class." Venus nodded, her hands fumbling with the other arm. "What made you feel the need to say shoot?" She looked up into Divine's warm, hazel eyes. "I was tired of them laughing at me; it wasn't a joke."
"I get that, I get that." Divine spoke gently, resting her hands onto the desk. "Maybe I can let you off the hook, since you've had a clean record for your whole three years at this high school. Keep up the great work." Venus nodded, relief washing over her sweating self. As she left, Principal Divine smiled at her, passing a Post-It. 'Have a great day, and be yourself!'"Andy, you're moving away?" Venus screamed. But the boxes were in Andy's car, and she was already in the driver's seat. "It's for the best." Venus stormed away, tears strolling down her cheeks. "She probably never cared.." She muttered, wiping her eyes before walking inside her apartment complex. Collapsing onto the couch, she burst into tears; at least the pillow could help her.
