I used to hear a simple song

Arthur took your hand in his. The contrast between soft and calloused somehow, comforting. A reminder of how you are no longer alone.

That was until you came along

He led you towards the ballroom, your pale white wedding dress trailing like a river behind you. In those moments, you recalled how you and Arthur had met. You were lost after having escaped the law after robbing the general store down in Valentine, he'd taken you in, and your love had blossomed together.  You remembered how he took you down to the river bank on your first date.

Now in its place is something new

Arthur placed one hand on your waist as the other hand laced its fingers with yours. You waltzed, slowly at first. Clumsily.  Arthur, guided you every step of the way until you were able to dance at an acceptable pace. Your cheeks, rosy and  (E/C) eyes, full of love for Arthur. Arthur's ocean blue orbs gazed lovingly into yours.

I hear it when I look at you

You pressed up close to Arthur, your chests touching. You looked up into his eyes once more. He looked down into yours, a kind of warmth spread through your body dusting your cheeks a light shade of pink. You turned to look away and hide your blush, but, Arthur gently grasped your chin and made you turn to look at him.

"Yer beautiful (y/n) don't try an' hide it from me..."

His words stirred something inside you. You felt a fluttering in your chest, butterflies in your stomach. You still doubted his words however.

"No, I'm not Arthur." you said rather ruefully.

Arthur took both of your hands in his and looked at you with his gorgeous bluish green eyes. This time, filled with a kind of sadness.

"But, you are (y/n). You might not see it but I do." Arthur spoke in a more urgent tone as he lightly squeezed your hands.

With simple songs, I wanted more

Arthur let go of your hands and moved his right hand to your cheek. Gently caressing you as if you were a delicate flower who might break at the slightest touch. The display of affection causing you to nuzzle against his touch.

"I feel so complete when I'm with you (y/n)" Arthur spoke barely above a whisper and emphasizing the word "complete".

You felt the same way yet, hearing Arthur say those words to you filled you with even more happiness if that were possible.

"I love you too Arthur Morgan. You're the other half I never thought I'd find." You blurted out.

Arthur smiled at your words and pulled you in for a sweet and gentle kiss.

Perfection is so quick to bore

Arthur pulled away from the kiss. His eyes still full of a kind of sadness.

"what's wrong Arthur?" You asked genuinely concerned for his well being.

"It's nothing (y/n)." Arthur tried to push it aside, only causing you to inquire further.

"I know when you're lying to me Arthur." you scolded.

"We're together on this." you spoke gently.

Arthur sighed, realizing you were right.

"Why'd you fall in love with me anyway (y/n)?" Arthur asked you somewhat afraid of your answer

You opened your mouth to speak but, Arthur gently pressed a finger against your lips silencing you so he could finish his incomplete thought.

"I'm a fool, an outlaw, I'm ugly, and I ain't got what a lady like you deserves."  he motioned at himself. Arthur was obviously asking why you didn't marry some city boy or rich man.
