The day was shining in Mors Hill, while a police cruiser was driving on the street.
"So, any clues about the three thieves?" Said Jessica to Ethan while driving.
"Okay, apparently there was a breakout on a reformatory two days ago. The runaways are Troy Becker, Keith Adams and Randy Anderson. Becker and Adams were put in custody for narcotic possession." Said Ethan reading from his phone.
"What about the other one?" Jessica said.
"Randy Anderson...murdered his entire family on a fire a year ago." Ethan said with a worried face.
"Oh..."
Meanwhile, in an abandoned cabin in the woods, the three runaways were hiding. Randy, the smallest boy, was staring at his open wound which was bleeding a bit. Luckly the cut wasn't too deep.
"We should go rob a pharmacy. It could get infected." Said Troy, the fat boy, looking at Randy.
"I'm fine." Said Randy with a menacing tone, still staring at the wound.
"Dude, I'm serious. We should-"
"I SAID I'M FINE!" Randy screamed with pure rage on his eyes.
"OKAY! Okay! You win... jeez..." Said Troy as he turned and started walking to the other side of the cabin where Keith was.
"Fucking psycho." Troy mumbled while Randy kept looking at his open wound.
Meanwhile, on the town, Jeff and Liu were on a cafe. Liu was taking tea, while Jeff took a sip of his coffee.
"So... your mom's a cop?"
"Yeah, it's pretty cool. But she's always afraid that something happens to me, she's so paranoid that she put a tracker on my phone."
"Huh... looks like she worries about you."
"Yeah... she's a good mother." Said Jeff with a melancholic look on his face.
"Anyways, why did you move here?" Jeff asked trying to change the subject.
"Well... my old city was kinda dangerous... so my... father... decided we should move to a more calmed place." Liu looked down and took a sip of his tea, he looked a bit nervous.
"I see... hey, what do you think about going to my place after you finish your tea? We can play videogames!" Said Jeff trying to cheer up Liu.
"Sound like a plan!" Said Liu smiling.
After they paid for the meal, Jeff and Liu went to Jeff's house.
"Well... this is my house!" Said Jeff while opening the door.
"Woah... nice place!" Liu looked at the house with a smile on his face.
Liu looked at the paintings on the wall. "Nice p-paintings!"
"Yeah, my mom painted them!" Jeff said with enthusiasm.
Liu looked surprised. "Wait... your mother is a cop AND an artist?"
"Heh, nope. My OTHER mother"
"...Oh"
"Yup."
Jeff looked at the pictures with a sad face. Remembering old times.
"She...she passed away a few years ago..."
"Oh, I'm...I'm sorry to hear that...I know how it feels... my mom... disappeared a few years ago..." Liu's voice sounded sad as he looked at the ground.
"Oh God... do you know what happened to her?"
"I have my suspicions, but... whatever actually happened, the police never found her... anyways, weren't we going to play videogames?" Liu tried really hard to change the subject.
"Oh, yeah... sorry."
Later that night, Liu entered his house carefully, trying to be as quiet as he could, knowing what happened when he was late. He sneaked through the living room trying to get to his own room. He looked at a big axe hanging on the wall, and started shaking a bit.
"You're late." Said his dad, Michael, who was sitting in the couch in front of the TV.
"S-sorry dad... I didn't saw my clock..." Said Liu on a really frightened voice.
"Hm... now... tell me, son..." The man got up from the couch holding a bottle of beer on his left hand.
"What the FUCK are you doing with a cop's kid?" He sounded really mad, as he started approaching Liu.
"I-I can explain!" Said Liu as he backed away.
"SHUT UP!" Michael suddently crashed the empty beer bottle in Liu's face. Liu hold his forehead in pain as it started bleeding, before Michael punched him on the face, breaking his nose. Liu fell to the ground, and his father started kicking him on the ribs as Liu screamed in pain. The attack continued for a few seconds before a cracking sound was heard from Liu's chest, Liu screamed and in a survival instinct he ran and jumped out the window, crashing it. Liu fell to the ground with an immense pain on his chest, as pieces of glass started piercing his body. He started running as fast as he could without even thinking about the immense pain he was feeling.
A few minutes later, Jeff heard someone knocking the door.
"I'll go!" Said Jeff to his mother.
Jeff opened the front door, and was shocked about what he saw. Liu was covered in blood, holding his chest in pain, with multiple pieces of glass nailed into his left arm.
"Hey bro..." Said Liu as he started loosing consciousness. He fell in Jeff's arms and Jeff panicked.
"MOM!! CALL AN AMBULANCE! NOW!!!"
