{Y/N} flops onto her bed. It's one of the few things that she had time to put up the rest was still in boxes, her family would be there tomorrow to help her unpack. A part of her wanted to to do it all herself, so she could have more time to decide where to put everything, but she knew if she let that happen it would never get done. She would have boxes there until the turn of the century. So she was grateful that her family was coming down to help her settle in. She had moved away from where she was living  because she needed a fresh start for college, and as much as she loves her family she really needed a break. She was 18, fresh out of high school but she had worked hard to save up for this small apartment and a Good PC. Her parents were helping her financially for the reset of it. {Y/N} only planned to be in college part time so she could get a job to pay rent. Looking around the room she realized just how alone her next few steps in life were going to be. She didn't know if she could do it, but here she was anyway. As she lay in her dark and virtually empty room. "So this is it.", she said to herself just to hear something besides the whooshing of the air conditioner. That was it she said nothing else, she soon clicked the power button on her phone to see she had no new notifications, her mother had sent her a goodnight text hours ago but that was it. She opened her phone looking at Instagram, there was plenty of content there to keep her entertained she scrolled for a bit until she came across one of her high school friends. The girl in the photo was posed in front of giant stone letters sporting a collage T-shirt. {Y/N} smiled sadly missing the company of her dear friends. They all looked so happy, how did they do it? They all seemed busy though, and soon she would be too. She closed the app tempted to open up Snapchat but she knew where that road lead. Instead she opened up Discord and low and behold several of her online friends were, well, online. None of them had messaged her but this wasn't abnormal behavior they knew what time it was and didn't want to bother her. As much as she wanted to talk to someone she decided to just send a couple memes in one of her favorite discord servers before going to sleep. She lay for a moment and her mind suddenly started to race. Her worries and thoughts began to take over. "UGH!", She yelled out in frustration she hated when her mind and body did this to her. Anxiety was a terrible thing that seemed to only strike her when she needed to be at peace. She prompted herself to think of Rayholand a made up imaginary place that she could think about to escape reality and its troubles. {Y/N} always loved making up stories they became her form of escapism. So as she built on the fictional world she slowly drifted to sleep.

She woke to the sun on her face, "Hynnnggg." She stretched rolling lazily to the edge of her bed before purposely plopping onto the floor. "Alright come on get up, get up.", she told herself as she pushes herself off the floor. She waddles over to her bathroom staring at herself in the mirror before looking around 'wait I need a towel'  she poked her head outside of the bathroom room to see the box labeled bathroom she ripped the tape off of the box before pulling out a towel, seeing the soap she pulled that out too. {Y/N} stripped herself of her clothes, and hopped in the shower. 'I wonder who I'll meet, College is only a couple weeks out. I can already feel the anxiety.', she thought to herself while scrubbing her head with shampoo. There was some campus get togethers and freshmen orientations that she had planned to go to but man was it nerve racking. The idea of having to start all over again, brand new friends, maybe even find a boyfriend. That was honestly the scarier of the two. Just the idea of adulting in general sucks.

Once {Y/N} was out of the shower she wrapped her towel around herself and walked back to her room to search through her boxes to find a suitable outfit for the day. Nothing much, it's not like today required anything too fancy. She managed to find an old summer camp tee shirt and a pair of 'borrowed' basketball shorts. They were practically hers at this point. She pulled them on, over her underwear of course she couldn't forget those, then dug out a brush to de-tangle her hair. Then her phone began to ring. A face time call from her little brother, and after letting it ring a couple of time she picked up. "Sup.", she said placing her phone on a window seal. She continued brushing her hair looking at her image in the top right corner. "Oh good you're up, we are about 15 minutes out and we stopped at McDonalds for breakfast what do you want.", her brother said the image of {Y/N}'s mom peeking into view to give her a wave. "Hi mom, you guys are here early when did you start the trip?", her brother pulled the camera close to his face until it filled the entire screen. He the tilted the phone so his mouth was right on the microphone. "They only woke me up at 2 in the morning.", {Y/N} laughed at his loud crackling voice. "You could have come later guys.", her brother rolled his eyes. "I only wish! These crazies wanted to be there first thing in the morning.", "Hey hand that over.", their mom chimed in before taking the phone from her brother.

{Y/N} smiled as her mom came into view, she  appeared to be sitting in the passenger side seat. "Hello darling, did you sleep well?" {Y/N} finished brushing her hair and nodded. "Yeah, I had a little trouble getting to sleep but I got there eventually." {Y/N}'s mom frowned and looked at her daughter pitying her situation. "Oh I'm so sorry sweetie! Did you take your medicine, or did that not help?" {Y/N} sighed, she had indeed forgotten to take her night medicine. However a part of her felt as though it wouldn't help. "No I forgot but I'm super anxious so I'm not surprised." {Y/N} was done brushing her heart at this moment and had decided that it would be good to braid her hair. All she has to do was leave them in until tomorrow morning and she would have a ready to go hair style. "Oh man yeah I bet you're anxious but you've got this sweetie. Are you going to events during welcome week or are you too anxious to go to those?" {Y/N}'s mom was so endearing. Her soft demeanor and extreme empathy made her look like an Angel. She was always looking out for {Y/N}, being a good mom, and {Y/N} knew she was lucky to have her. "I think I'm going to go even if I kind of don't want to I'm sure I'll be much more satisfied if I go."
