Mallory's P.O.V.

I step out onto the porch with my purse in hand. The sun had begun to set, the day starting to cool down. I chose out a short and black, long-sleeved dress with a v-neck. I paired it with gold jewelry and chunky heels. I put my hair in a low, middle-part bun and gold earrings.

Jake steps out as he closes the door behind him, giving the doorknob one last twist to make sure it's locked. He wears a loose, over a halfway buttoned-up black dress shirt, tucked, with dress shoes and a gold chain.

He turns, and we step down from the porch, unlocking the car. Jake makes his way to the passenger door and opens it up for me, smiling.

"You look beautiful, princess," he winked.

"Why, thank you," I smile.

He started up the car, buckling my seatbelt as he headed down the road.

I looked for the address on my phone, directing Jake as we made our way around the city.

He finally pulls up to a tall building while we look for parking. The sun had already set, the sky a midnight blue. I decided to call Lydia to check if we were at the right place.

She picks up on the third ring. "Hello?" she loudly says, music audible in the background.

"Hey, I'm here. I'm not sure where to park, though."

"Give me a second!" she yells, hearing her struggle for a bit.

Jake turns on his hazard lights as cars pass around us.

"Alright, pull into the parking deck next to the building. You need to go around—Park on the third floor. I reserved your spot. It's right by my car,"

I lower the phone and look over at Jake. "You need to go around the building to the parking deck. Third floor,"

He nods and turns off the hazard lights. He makes his way around the block.

"Will you meet me at the entrance? It looks like a private building."

"Yeah, I'll be down in a bit,"

I hang up the phone as we pull into the parking deck. My heart pounds in my throat.

"I don't know why I'm so nervous," I quietly say, letting out a shaky chuckle.

We pull into the parking spot, and he turns off the car. "It's okay. As long as I'm by your side, there is no need to worry," he reassured.

I smiled, putting a hand over his "Thank you,"

He leans in to kiss me on the cheek, stroking my cheek. "Let's go,"

We made our way around the building while I kept my eyes out for Lydia. As we approached the entrance, I saw a slim figure wearing dark red with blonde wavy hair. I recognize her as she walks up to the door.

She opens it up with a smile on her face. "Hey! You made it," she says as she wraps her arms around me.

"Lydia! You look beautiful," I say as I kiss her on the cheek.

"Thank you," She turns to hug Jake as well. "You both look so great! Let's head up. I want you to meet some people."

We followed her inside to the elevators, nodding to the receptionist as we walked by. She clicks the upward arrow and turns around to face us.

"There are girls already drunk. It feels like college all over again, but for some reason, I don't mind it," she giggled.

"Oh, I can't wait. I'm sure Jake will have some fun," I teased.
