The winter nights seemed to be getting colder and colder.
The assassin, clad in black, wrapped his jacket further over himself while watching the snow fall from the wall-size glass window. He watched from a hidden building situated within a mountain in what was formerly known as Europe, many, many years ago.
He watched each individual snowflake fall from the mountain with grace. He wasn't particularly fond of the cold, but he did appreciate beauty when he saw it. That, and he needed something to do. He was waiting, ever so patiently. Waiting for his signal to move.
However, with even such beauty in the world, there was darkness that would also accompany it. The world wasn't always how he had known it. A long time ago, long before his time, there were many different countries that made up Earth. All which are now replaced by one, Regnisque. History told him that the King when he united the world, proclaimed of peace, which was something he struggled to believe in. Perhaps it was the pathetic excuse they had currently, the grandson of the first king. He was messed up to say the least. He was power hungry, he wanted more than he could have, and he already had the entire world under his control. He wasn't like the other kings, there was something....dark about him.
"ding~"
There chimed the bell tower right on the stroke of midnight. The assassin snapped out of his trance and gripped the sword from the scabbard over his shoulder. That was his cue. He ran down the corridor along which followed the long glass window, his black clothing camouflaging perfecting amongst the shadows of the night.
He looked down at the piece of paper which he held in his hand, and stared at the name written.
'Eri Gray.'
