Mother

It was a nice, autumn day in the small cabin that the human I haunt lives in. A fresh, cool wind blows through the window which was slightly opened. The human, called Felix, sat on his bed while watching this thing he called a computer.

He was doing....Casses? No, no, classes. He's being taught things I could never imagine being taught. Science, Math---and... English. I loomed over him, silently watching as he tapped on his little pads with letters...what was that thing called again?

Nevermind, that's unimportant right now. After he'd shut off his contraption, he went to put it up, only for the new yorker to be frightened by my "sudden" appearance, letting out the sheril that you'd only imagine to come out of a young girl.

"BREX!" He shouted out, holding his thing tightly, "W-What are you doing here?" He had that 'classic' New York accent, while I, however, had an old timey, 1600's British accent.

I stared at him, stunned by his sudden hostility. I've been haunting him ever since....age 12. Why do humans call it "age?" What is an age? Do I have one? All I know is that he's "age" 15. I have to admit, I'm not the brightest. Education was poor back in the 1600's, and now it's changed so much. I had "lived" in that time, so it's strange to see the "new education system."

Felix sighed and started to speak again, "Don't you EVER frighten me like that again! Someone could've seen you!!"

"I'm sorry! I was just......."I trailed off, trying to figure out the right word to suite my fancy of his magnificent human like nature.

"Curious?", He stated, looking at me somewhat confused. The boy had dark red hair and orange reddish eyes, which I've never seen before, and the palest skin completion, that of a ghost.

"Yeah, C-Curious" I muttered. He sighed and quietly led me up to his quarters of the cabin, one of which he's claimed ever since he was a child.

Sighing as he puts away his contraption, I couldn't help but notice the strange capture(picture) hung up on the wall. It seemed to be of him as a young one and a female...maybe his creator? What was so queer about the picture was how half of it was cut off. It seems like there used to be one more entity there, but I could not gather a whole capture.

"Felix?" I asked, catching his attention, "I don't mean to deceive you but... who's that in the capture?" I pointed at it as he groaned in annoyance, not even wanting to look at the photograph.

"Mother," he muttered out, "that's...my mother"

"She's a very pretty lady!" I complimented the old lady in the picture. "Why isn't she he--"

"Please stop asking questions!!" Felix shouted at me, his eyes watering as if to be filled with tears which were trying to come out. I would never expect such small, yet violent actions from Felix. I suppose he's an orphan, as there's no other male parental figure, well I count, that he's related to. Rain started to quietly fall, the slightest of pitter-pattering hitting the roof.

"Mother..."I whispered underneath my breath as thoughts clustered in my mind as to what exactly a mother might be.

"Mother...."
