Today is the day. I'll finally leave for Italy. I couldn't sleep last night because of the excitement. I got up pretty early even though my flight is in six hours. I got ready and went downstairs to prepare breakfast. My parents woke up thirty minutes after me and so we had our last breakfast together. After we finished my dad moved the suitcases to the car.

- Honey it's time to leave.

- Ok, I'll be down on five.

I got my backpack and looked behind me. After all these years it will be the first time that I leave my house and parents for so long.

"I'm ready", I said to my parents and got in the car.

Flight 36184FD for Florence Italy should get aboard.

That was my signal to farewell my parents and Ella. Before I even turned my head to talk to them, my mom had already started crying.

"Mom, you shouldn't be crying. I'm not going to a war neither you won't see me again", I said to her while I was hugging her.

Ella couldn't help herself but also cry.

"I'm gonna miss you little crackhead", Ella said and she hugged me so strong that I couldn't breathe.

"I'll miss you too miss drama queen", I said to her while petting her head.

"Maria you should go, you don't want to miss your flight. Don't worry I'll be their psychological support", my dad said and we both laughed.

"Alright then, I'm going now", I said while I was walking to my gate. I turned my head and looked at the two weepers, my mom and Ella, and then at my dad. I waved at them and got in my gate.

Little did I know that this would be the last time to see their faces, to feel their warmth through a hug and a kiss.
