Chapter Zero
Prologue.▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂
"...Mother?"
The older woman turned her head over her shoulder to connect with the innocent eyes of her own daughter.
As for her own daughter; her pupils dilated even worse when she saw the rough maroon splatters on her mother's pale cheek.
Her gaze hardens at the little child.
"Get out."
Crazed and desperate, she lowly warned the third person in the room. "Please get out."
In the cold silence after those words were thrown, the mother swung her head, trying to grasp the faint sounds around the room.
Her green eyes bored at the tiny figure, those malignant green eyes that used to match so gently with the jade earrings she wore right now.
Those jade earrings continued to match her even at this sudden state. But in the end—especially in the eyes of a child, one thing changed,
Her mother looked like a calamity more than a human.
Was it because of the feeling of doom and misery? Or was it the price of being born into this family?
Perhaps it had caught the mother. She thought she could escape it in this generation. She thought it had sunk and dulled throughout the decades—and she was glad it had missed her, being able to bear a child, a loving husband.
At the same time, within her soul is a dream unfulfilled.
Perhaps that is true of most mothers. In one's soul is an outpouring of love. She wanted to pour it out on someone for the last time.
How stupid could she be?
There was no more love.
It's the curse—the curse that made her feel everything, anything but love and compassion like she used to.
The curse placed by the first [L/Name].
The little steps were heard creaking on the wooden floor, a small hand placed itself on the the shoulder of the black kimono the woman wore. "M-Mom—"
"[Name]."
She finally called out, sharp and rapid. But at the same time, her tone sounded so cautious and scared.
