Chapter Five - Dirtier

Victoria did not return to the office that day. She was so angry with herself. She couldn't explain to herself how it was possible for her to hate Andrew with all her heart and at the same time to like the games he was playing with her...

And nothing could make her stop thinking about it, neither the lunch with her mother, nor the hard workout in the gym, nor the one-hour run after that.

But she was hoping that dinner with Justin would distract her. At least a little bit. There was a special, strong bond between them. And she knew if someone could make her feel good and calm it could be only Justin.

7:15 pm

Both were already sitting in a small restaurant a few blocks from Victoria's apartment, where they loved to dine. They had even placed their orders, but for some reason, neither of them spoke.

"So," Justin broke the silence. "How was the first working day with Andrew, Tori?"

"No," she shooked her head negatively. "Don't ask me that, Justin. I really don't want to talk about that. I need to talk about something else. What did you want to tell me?"

Justin looked at her and took a deep breath.

But at the same moment, her phone buzzed.

Victoria checked the message with reluctance.

"You didn't go back to work today. Are you scared of something?"

After looking at her phone for a few seconds, she decided to ignore Andrew's message and turned back to Justin.

"I am listening."

He took a deep breath once again.

"Okay. I was thinking lately... You know... I was thinking..."

"Justin, you are confusing me..."

"Hell, I've been rehearsing this for months ..."

"You've been rehearsing it?"

"I am in love with you, Tori!"

"What?"

"We know each other since forever. There is no other person who knows me better than you. And there is no other person who knows you better than me."

Victoria was listening to him and couldn't believe what he was saying. And as if that wasn't enough, her phone buzzed again. She glanced at it to check the message.

"Maybe you're afraid to admit that this is what you want ... my head between your legs?"

She coughed slightly. She felt already turned on. How could this man do this with only a few words...

"Are you listening to me, Tori?"

"Justin, yeah, yes, of course..."

"I was saying that I think maybe it is time to take our relationship to the next level..."

"I don't know what to say... Justin, you are like my brother... Are you sure that you are in love with me?"

"Of course, I'm sure. Why would I tell you if I was not?"

The phone buzzed again. But this time Victoria didn't check it. Instead, she continued the weirdest conversation she has ever had with Justin.

"I don't know... Maybe you're confused after your breakup with Maria?"

"I broke up with Maria because of you."

At that moment Victoria realized that she never asked Justin why exactly he and Maria broke up a few months ago...
