I cracked my eyes open feeling movement surround the unfamiliar room i was in.
Looking around I realized the whole area had bunk beds occupying the space, though that wasn't what caught me off guard.
We all had the same exact clothing, green jump suits, number placed on our breast, and that's it.
I looked down, taking note of the number "066" attached to my jacket, along with all my valuables gone.
Slowly rising from the bed, i made my way to the center of the room where a group had formed.
Managing to make my way to the front of the crowd where i saw a women, my age, wiping fresh blood that dripped down her lips.

She was one number off from mine.
We quickly made eye contact before a man decided to grab her by the hair and start dragging her.

I furrowed my eyebrows wondering what the hell she did to already make enemies not even an hour after we got here.
A different middle aged man decided to shove pass me as he made his way between the two, I assumed he was going to help her, however, he just started yelling at her asking where his money was.

deciding that the situation bores me i made my way back to the bunk i woke up on.
As i sat down the front doors opened, while a group of men in red suits and a mask with shapes on them gained everyone's attention, which luckily stopped the girl from being even more injured.
They started blabbering on about games and money, which i slowly blocked out.
That's the reason we're all here.
I rolled my eyes as they escorted us out to the first game.

We were all brought out into a huge...room?
I don't know. The floor looked like it was dirt but there were walls surrounding us.
The intercoms came on announcing what the first game was.
Red light, Green Light
Okay.. i thought, seems easy enough.
As the doll started saying green light two boys in front of me started sprinting before the doll said red light.
I stopped immediately, the one boy stumbled slightly which soon came to a stop after we all heard a loud shot.
My breath hitched as he stopped moving entirely.
We all moved slowly, questioning where the noise came from
The second boy started whispering to his friend once we all stopped again, though screams is all i heard as the group went crazy, the blood of others splattered on me as i held still.
I swallowed thickly, forcing myself to stay still as the booms kept coming along with the screams.
Number 067 made eye contact with me while we both stood still.
Her hair swayed slightly from the wind.

Even with the nasty cut on her lip.
Green Light
I stayed still though, still comprehending what just happened.
My figure didn't move for a couple rounds until i realized i needed to make it past that line or else my body would be laying here like the rest.
As i only had 30 seconds left to make it, i looked to my left and saw her again.
she slightly nodded signaling for me to sprint after the doll said green light.
which we did.
The air whipped across my face while i ran.
My lungs hurt like hell, threatening me to start wheezing.
Holy fuck.
I am not athletic at all.
The amount of adrenaline i had made me feel as if i were high.
Red light

i made it.
i let out a shaky breathe as i collapsed to the ground.
my hands roamed my face trying to get all the drops of blood off.
My eyes scanned the many bodies dropping as the timer got to zero.
She was rubbing her forehead.
I'm glad she made it.
