Where am I?
A boy with burgundy hair glanced up at the bright sun shining overhead.
I was just, fighting Muzan. MUZAN!
His breath caught in his throat, and he turned around as if expecting to see the demon.
Calm down, panicking will get you nowhere.
Muzan was dead, I think he was dead.
But then am I dead?
Tanjiro turned his head, confused to what he should do.
The chirp of a snowy white bird, a shima enaga, caught his attention.
The animal turned its head, its eyes looking straight at him.
His breathing almost stopped when he saw its eyes.
Instead of the normal pitch black color of most birds, its eyes were a calm shade of violent, almost lavender.
"What?"
The bird took off, flying down the stone path, before perching on a nearby tree, almost as if it was asking him to follow.
"Where are you going?"
He ran after it, as if pulled by a leash.
A large house appeared, and the bird perched onto the stone walls surrounding it, waiting for him to jump over.
"What are you trying to show me?"
He had already seen the past of Yoriichi, and that a vision was the only plausible explanation he could think of.
It was only when he landed in the court yard that he smelled blood, which came from a room across the garden.
He ran toward it, and reached out a hand to pull the sliding door open, but his arm passed through it, as if he was a ghost.
The thought frightened him, but he hardened his resolve and stepped inside.
-
There was a man, with long curly black hair, lying in a futon.
His hand trembled when he removed a white hankerchief from his mouth, and Tanjiro's eyes widened when he saw the blood which stained the cloth.
"Are you alright?"
Tanjiro moved closer, trying to catch a glimpse of the man's face. But the sound of footsteps interrupted him, and he turned around to see a woman with white hair, and a few servants rushing for the room.
"Start brewing the medicine, and get Doctor Lyashi. You..."
She gestured to another servant, "Help me prop him up."
Tanjiro's eyes widened when he saw her face.
Lady Tamayo?
But she never had white hair. But she looks so much like her.
The woman, she was very young, did resemble Tamayo significantly, but she was taller, with an obvious difference in her hair, her eyes were slightly lighter in color.
"My Lord."
She had reached the man, and was kneeling by his side.
"My Lord, please relax for a moment."
The man's hand gripped hers, and she looked at him with some sort of fierce determination.
And then he lifted his head.
Tanjiro almost fell backwards when he saw the man's face.
-
"Muzan."
He breathed, his face almost immediately contorting into hatred.
"Lady Kibutsuji, the water."
One of the servants had returned, and the boy felt a sensation of disgust ripple through him.
Does she know that he is a....
He cut his own thought off when he realized where he was, or rather when he was.
I am, I am in the time where Muzan was still a human!
And that woman, she does not resemble Lady Tamayo, Lady Tamayo resembles her!
She was Muzan's wife.
-
Muzan, or rather the human who would become the demon was trembling, and he would have collapsed already, if not for his wife, who propped him up gently on the pillows.
His wife with her kind eyes and easy smile.
