To start... the adorable Yachi! Let's get to it.
She - dodie
"She tastes like apple juice and peach."Y/n POV
"L/n-san!" I hear from behind me. I quickly turn at the familiar voice, and smile when I see her approach. Yachi stops her little jog when she reaches me. "Good morning," she greets with a big smile.A chuckle leaves my lips. She seems to tense but I put a hand on her shoulder. "Good morning to you too Yachi. And remember? You don't have to add 'san' at the end of my name. We're close."
She smiles sheepishly, a small blush coating her cheeks. I scream internally at how adorable she is. Ignoring the feeling of warmth on my own cheeks, I start walking into our school. Yachi follows as I make conversation.
We sit at our desks, hers in front of mine, but continue to converse. She's rambling about a quiz coming up that she's nervous about. I've told her that she's going to pass but she's not so sure. I just let her ramble, hanging onto every word.
The bell rings and the teacher comes in right on time. The whole classroom goes silent at the intimidating teacher. Noticing Yachi tense up more then the rest, her being the most afraid of him, I resist a chuckle. She's so cute.
As usual, I find myself staring at Yachi more then the board. As soon as she turns around though, I look back at the teacher. There are always many close calls but I always dodge them.
As our last class before lunch starts, a piece of paper lands on my desk. Looking in the direction it came from, I spot another friend of mine. She makes a gesture of opening a book to which I turn back to the paper and open it.
'You're going to drill a giant hole through her head if you keep staring.' It reads. An embarrassed hue covers my face as I stare at the note, clutching is tightly which makes the poor paper crinkle. She's right, but that won't stop me.
I turn back to the girl who is already watching me. As a response, I make a face and stick out my tongue. I get to see her look of mock offence before my attention is, once again, returned to Yachi. But I'm surprised when hers is on me as well.
"What was that about?" She mouths. I shake my head, telling her that it's nothing. She just nods slowly before going back to her beautifully writen notes. I'll have to ask her to help me write my own later. I suck at nite taking.
Finally, it's lunch. I stretch next to my locker, then sigh. Yachi turns to me with a concerned look on her face. She's so cute I just can't take it!
"Are you ok L/n-san-I mean, L/n?" She asks, taking her stuff from the locker beside mine. I smile at her concern.
"Yeah, I'm fine. I'm just tired," I tell her truthfully.
"Well, Hinata and Kageyama wanted more help so you can come to the library if you'd like. Not that I don't want to be alone with you! Wait- not that I want to be alone like that. Wha-you don't have to-ah!" I cup her cheeks with my hands to stop her rambling.
"I'd love to come." Her cheeks are warm to the touch and they quickly turn pink. She looks so cute when she's flustered. But I'm flustered as well when I realize what I'm doing.
Quickly, I take my hands away from her cheeks and cough. "Let's go," I say, taking her hand in mine before dragging her to the library.
Once there, I let go if her hand. I already miss the warmth but I ignore it. We spot Hinata and Kageyama arguing already, trying not to raise their voices. I bet so nic money that they've already been scolded by the librarian. I let out a chuckle as Yachi sweats from beside me.
We walk up to them and they stop arguing. "Hi Yachi, hi L/n." We both greet them back before they all take out their stuff. I didn't bring anything so I just watch.
I watch Yachi as she makes cute expressions while studying with the two first years. The excitement in her eyes when she's talking about a topic she likes. Her concentrated face when teaching the two other first years. And her little claps when they do something good. I could watch her all day. But I have to make sure to look away from time to time to make sure I don't look creepy.
It's almost the end of lunch so we pack up and leave the library. Yachi and I go back to the classroom to eat some lunch before classes start again. I'm starving now.
I open my bento to some fugashi I got at an old food shop a few days ago. I can feel Yachi's stares so I look up with a teasing smile. Realizing she's been caught, she blushes a bit and turns back to her food.
I laugh before putting all of them in her own bento. Her eyes light up when she sees what I did. She's so cute. She thanks me quietly before putting some of her sushi in my bento. I thank her as well and we dig in in comfortable silence.
As class is about to start, an announcement rings in our classroom. "Yachi Hitoka, please come to the office with your things." I look at her, confused because she never said anything about leaving early. She just shrugs a bit before saying good bye and leaving.
I pout a bit, knowing I'll have to spend the rest of the day with my best friend and crush. How will I ever survive? Is it even possible? As I'm being dramatic, my friend from earlier rolls her eyes as she passes my table.
At the end of the day, I barley did survive. It was a long afternoon. Especially since she never came back to school or texted me. Is she in trouble? Did something happen?
As I walk home by myself, I pass Yachi's house since she usually walks with me. Deciding I can't take it anymore, I walk up to the door and knock. More worry flows through me when her mother answers.
"Oh, L/n? What are you doing here?" She asks, looking like she's just about to leave. When isn't she leaving to be honest?
"I'm sorry but where's Hitoka?"
"She's just at a check up at the doctors. I forgot to tell her it was today. She'll be back soon. You can wait here if you'd like." I sigh in relief and nod. I will stay here. I sit in the couch and play in my phone as her mom leaves and I wait for Yachi.
After about ten minutes later, the door opens. Immediately, I'm on my feet and rushing towards the door. Yachi jumps when she sees me, clearly not expecting anyone to be here. "L/n!"
When I reach her, I give her a tight hug. I let go of her to see her in a flustered state, making incoherent sounds. I pout and slump which makes her stop. "Why didn't you text me that you were at an appointment? I was so worried."
Her eyebrows furrow. "Are you mad?" I immediately stand up straight again, looking at Yachi with widened eyes. She looks worried herself so I smile to reassure her.
"I'm not mad. I was just worried," I promise.
I'm about to say something else when suddenly her hand covers my mouth. "Y-you know, you're r-really c-c-cute when you're worried," she stutters out.
My eyes widen once again as my brain tries to process her words. Did she just call me cute? Does she like me too?
My silence must have scared her more then she already was because she then goes on a ramble about how I should ignore her and how I'll never want to talk to her again. Without thinking, I cup her cheeks, like I did earlier today, and press my lips against hers.
She yelps in surprise but I continue kissing her. After a few seconds, she nervously kisses back. Soon enough, we're both kissing smoothly. Her lips taste like her strawberry lip balm she uses. They feel so soft but I didn't expect anything else from her.
We let go and smile. "Saying that the other is cute is my thing," I scold her playfully. She gives a nervous laugh before slowly connecting our lips again.
