White light. A bright white light blinding everything in my vision. I shield my eyes, taking fragile steps further into the shining abyss. I had been here so many times before, but each time was as fresh and exciting as the first. I wander around blindly, my hands feeling around for anything remotely familiar.
Suddenly the brightness began to calm and a rough haze is made out in the blank distance. Baboom... Baboom.. Baboom. My heart pounded, so hard it echoed from the base of my throat. It was like a rush of emotions had taken over my body. The same as always, nothing different.
My eyes could now make out the outline of a person. A man. A boy. I stay glued to the spot, my stare fixated directly on the approaching stranger.
I gulp as he takes one final step, closing the distance between us. His whole being was somewhat fuzzy, but my gaze managed to take in the small, minor details of him. The small freckle upon his forehead, the way his dark hair fell perfectly over his eyebrow. And then finally, his perfect pink lips. Which, at that very moment, were guiding themselves towards mine.
My cheeks flush, and I feel my own respond immediately, moving in closer to his.
"Echoooo..."
My eyelids flash open at this, and I panic. I didn't want to leave. Not yet. Not again. I grip more tightly onto him. Desperate for it not to end. I try to push my lips on his, but everything seemed to be slowing down. Everything except the beating of my heart. The brightness soon shattered like a broken mirror, and my body is thrown backwards as I am so rudely tugged from this perfect foreigners embrace, and my arms reach out for him, doing the best they can to regain contact. But the harder I try, the bigger the distance between us grows.
The darkness eats up the last of the light, and I watch as he too is taken.
I am now falling into the chasm of lightlessness. I try my best to grip onto something, anything to sustain myself physically. But it's no use, so I give in to the gloom.
Falling, falling, falling...
I gasp, my eyes shooting open as I quickly sit up. My gaze darts around the room as my heavy breathing causes my chest to heave. I feel around before finally realising I was back in my old, dull bedroom. I groan, falling back onto the pillows. It was just a dream.
