It was yet another bustling night in Nefarious City. Warm-toned lights of red, yellow, and orange dominating over cool-toned lights of blue, green, and purple, robotic citizens strolling through the streets and bazaars, and large groups of Nefarious Troopers patrolling all throughout the dystopian city, scattered, high and low.
A certain white Lombax was running through the streets, making sharp turns through alleys, jumping, and parkouring to safety and ignoring the citizens' gasps and horrified looks on their faces as several Nefarious Troopers were on her tail. Those pesky troopers just don't know when to quit, do they? Rivet thought. She had to get away and find a safe place immediately. She wasn't going to let the same mishap happen to her again, for she was slightly suffering some minor injuries to her thighs and left arm from the troopers repeatedly shooting at her, but she was strong. She would not give in so easily. She was a resistance fighter, for the sake of her dimension!
Rivet pushed herself through, determined to escape the footsteps of the emperor's minions echoing in her ears before the worst could happen to her. She quickly pulled out her Burst Pistol and fired at the minions behind her, hoping to keep them at bay and away from her, but she knew that won't last for long. A few of the troopers fired back at her, but she managed to Phantom Dash diagonally forward out of the way. She then pulled out the Shatter Bomb and threw several at them as she made another sharp turn through an alley.
"I gotta get to higher ground!" she said under her breath as another blast made its way up to her from behind. Miraculously, the Lombax rolled under it, utilizing her incredible reflexes, and began hopping on slabs and awnings, attempting to reach the rooftops.
"You will not get away so easily, rebel!" one of the Nefarious Troopers with a male voice called out to her.
"Hah! Think again! Take this!" she hollered at the troopers slightly below her and pelted them with shots from the Burst Pistol and Shatter Bombs, commencing the eruptive end of their pursue of her.
Rivet watched the remaining troops' fall as soon as she reached a high, safe distance from the explosion. She grinned at the sight and let out a scoff. "Good riddance." The rebel Lombax carried on finding a safe place after all that hell she just went through.
Rivet made it to the rooftops, desperate of finding someplace safe before moving on. Eventually, she found a suitable spot for her to rest at by the walls of a building. It was only a matter of time before some more troops come and find her, but for now, she needed to settle down and rest her injuries. She had nothing to patch herself with, but she should be safe and sound... for now. The Lombax approached the wall in the shadows where she would not be too easily seen by the Nefarious ships patrolling in the sky with the lights shining down on the ground below and slid down into a sitting position up against the dark walls. It was quite...comfortable.Rivet let out some pants from all the running and parkouring. Quite another typical night, huh? She had been through so much in her adult life, it was inconceivable, ever since Emperor Nefarious came in and turned everything into a dystopia as part of his desire to take over dimensions. He took everything away from her, and she will do whatever it takes to get it back. But it was something she never thought would see and she took the opportunity to fight back against the corrupt forces.
The Lombax stared out at the vast sight of the corrupted city thanks to the work of the emperor. Ten years after this city had fallen and Nefarious had taken the pleasure to turn it into his utopia, where he would be respected and much appreciated. Just what he wanted, and Rivet was not going to let that happen perpetually, now that she was a resistance fighter. But it also took her through ups and downs, thinking back to what had just happened, being chased by several troops and receiving some minor injuries in the process, she was used to those by now, but after something traumatizing that had happened to her weeks ago, she didn't feel like herself much when she sprang back into resistance duty and faced the usual casualties. She did not want to think about what happened that night with her arm, minus the slightly sore injuries she received on her thighs and arm, which weren't too much of a burden, but rather something else...about her.
Underneath all those hardships lies hope within her. Her dimension may be corrupted, but that didn't mean that hope she had will be gone forever. No, she must not give in. She must not fall to the corruption and purgatory. She was strong, she'd repeatedly tell herself. She was now part of the resistance, and as long as she was a strong fighter, there would be nothing to stop her. Not even the emperor and his stupid followers. Rivet felt prouder than ever with herself, even after everything she had been through. She never knew she would come this far until joining the resistance and carried on fighting for the good made her realize it.
Rivet's ears then twitched to the sound of a patrol ship hovering and shining the light below. It was time for her to go. The Nefarious Troopers would find her soon if she doesn't get out of the spot she was resting at. The moon Lombax stood up, recovered from her ever-so-slightly sore injuries, and moved silently as possible in the shadows as to not be seen and heard by any of the troopers, and risk receiving anymore injuries to any of her limbs.
Just to make sure she doesn't get spotted so easily and cause another pursue...
