A/n: Hey guys! It's good to see you again :D
This chapter will kind of be just a catch-up on what's happened so far during the Holidays and how Y/n is feeling. Maybe about Percy to...😏😏
You'll see soon enough. But anyway, Happy Halloween Season guys and a very very early Christmas. How you all have a great week and enjoy <33
Y/n's POV:
It has been almost two weeks since the Christmas Holidays had started and throughout it all, I've been staying with my Dad in our small flat in Southampton. It was a rather magical Christmas if I do say so myself.
My Dad had found a new job with better pay and took it greatfully. We finally got more money in the house and began to pay off our depts. It wasn't all going to be gone by tomorrow, and we where definitely still struggling, but it was a start. And I couldn't be more proud of my Dad.
Plus, I'd still managed to keep in contact with the Weasley's during the Holidays. We mailed eachother almost everyday (poor Errol and Y/o/n where probably exhausted) but things where going good. Fred and George created more products over the break and where exited to show me them when I visited. Arthur, Molly, Charlie and Bill all sent lovely Christmas cards to me - Charlie even sending me something from Romania (where he was working currently after he had graduated early).
Ron, Ginny and Harry all sent a card together with the three of them and Hermione in the frame. I could tell by the not so great quality that Mrs. Weasley had taken it - she always found technology hard no matter how simple it really was - but it was still very sweet.
Percy had sent me a handmade card wishing me luck and a Merry Christmas and a present with some book-related gifts inside. I thought it was very sweet. I'd never really seen this side to him before, only ever really used to the insults and mutual hatred we had beforehand, though I didn't understand why I thought that. It was not like we where best friends at the beginning of the year or anything. But now... everything was nice and I honestly wouldn't change it.
Vera, Callum, Lee and Liam all did the same with a small gift inside. I was greaful for Vera and Callum's but... Liam's was kinda weird. It was just that we'd only ever really had a conversation with eachother at the Winter Ball and we weren't friends or anything- so why would he send me a card and a gift?
Sure, we sat next to eachother in Charms and danced maybe once at the Winter Ball but that's as far as our relationship went. He was starting to act very... clingy I guess. He was acting as if we where friends or something and constantly tried to go out of his way to talk to me, even when I was already talking to someone else or in the middle of something. I didn't mind it at first, it just seemed like he wanted to get to know me - which was fine - but it kept escalating.
It was like he was there constantly, practically glued to me and always trying to flirt. I had made it abundantly clear that I wasn't interested multiple times, so much so that I once even deliberately let it slip that I had a 'boyfriend' but he just wouldn't stop. Things where getting kind of out of hand, and I didn't know how he'd gotten my address to send me letters and gifts in the first place but I sure as hell wasn't going to send any back.
I was actually keeping the letters as evidence to show McGonagall when I got back how he was harassing me. But I think he took me not sending them back as I sign to continue, as if I was playing hard to get or something. My Dad wasn't too happy about it either, and had sent an angry letter to Dumbledoor himself - with no reply. That was exactly why I was going to get McGonagall involved. She would understand.
But in other news, I was also allowed to spend the last two weeks of the Holiday's at the Weasley's again, all thanks to my Dad of course, and I was obviously very excited.
I hadn't seen them all in weeks, and the last time I saw Charlie and Bill was at the begining of the year. I was planning on bombarding them all with Christmas gifts. While Vera, Lee, Ben, Dylan, Josh and Callum had already sent their presents out - as did I to them - the Weasley's and I decided to hand them around when I visited, that way it was all be in person and special. And we would be able to spend New Year's together.
And I had also made sure to check up on Lee over the Holiday's, to see how he was feeling after visiting Aria in the Hospital Wing, and he seemed to be doing better thankfully. My constant letters had helped him apparently.
The Slytherin girls and I where most definitely not becoming friends, but where friendly towards one another in a civil sort of manner. And as nice as it was to see that they had genuinely become better people after I'd left. But I had decided not to go back. I was still able to hang out with Vera like I normally would have, so that wasn't a problem but I was more to do with the fact that there where still some nasty Slytherin's there.
They hadn't stopped picking on me, though thankfully it wasn't anything I couldn't handle. Just some insults here and there that I'd pretty much gotten used to at this point. But I just wouldn't be able to handle that same situation again. I now had a more comfortable place to stay, with frankly alot better people and with the support and healthy friendships that I needed. Percy and the rest of the boys where very kind and sweet so I didn't see the point in going to back to that horrible place.
Plus, Percy wasn't as bad as a dorm-mate as I had originally thought. Sure, he was an asshole at the begining, but now I was glad to have him around. We kind of balanced eachother out in a weird way. He was a little more relaxed about things than I was, and was always willing to help me study with anything - even if he hated the subject. And he had learnt from me that when he started to become stressed or angry, to take a breathe and leave when need be.
We actually worked really well together. I brought out the more soft and surprisingly fun side of him while he helped me become a little more level headed and understanding. Vera described us as Ying and Yang. I didn't fully understand what she ment but she was kind of right.
Merlin, if only me had become friends sooner then maybe we would have actually gotten along. Maybe even had some fun together.
But right now, I was happy with what I had.
