Chapter 1: The Invite

. My phone vibrated on the table slightly giving me a jerk, I weakly lifted my head to look at the ugly chicken clock on the wall, 12:30? 'Who would be texting me at 12:30?' My straight raven silk hair cascaded along my arm as I strained it towards the table where my Nokia sat. "This better be worth answering" I grunted as I finally got hold of the Nokia and looked at the lock screen. The picture showed shatter Greg and I laughing at the graffiti that was on the side of the high school, it was lame but hilarious because the people who graffitied the school graffitied their twitter names, such idiots.

. Shatter and Greg were linking arms and her blue eyes were staring into his brown eyes truly beautiful. I opened up my text box and saw that jay asked if I could go to the carnival, I doubt I could go since I'm watching my cousins. I turned my attention to the two sleeping infants on the couch and my heart swelled, so adorable. My fingers fluttered as I texted back, "I'll try, I dunno if I'll be able to though.." I set my phone back on the table so I could tie up my hair, my hand was stuck in my braided hair when my phone finally vibrated again. 'Sonavab*tch, now?!' My hair stuck to my hand as I started to pull it gently and it was still entwining with my fingers, with a final jerk my hand was released.

. 'I don't really have anyone else to go with, I'll be a loner.' I exit out of the text box, and threw the phone on the couch, 'He's gonna guilt trip me into going to the carnival??' Alright then I'll play. I grabbed the phone and texted, "ok". After turning off the phone I grabbed the green scratchy pillow, then set my cheek on the scratchy surface and drifted.

. Chapter 2: Carnival

"Thank you so much for letting me go mom, I promise I will be good!" I gave her a hug and opened the passengers door. She handed me my beanie and I pulled it over my pony tail as she started to drive away. "Be safe!" She yelled from the car window. I instantly spotted the ticket stand in the middle of the crowded walkway and waited til the crowd dispersed, then I sprinted over and looked at the price poster for the tickets and ride bands. "Excuse me miss how much are the wristbands?" I asked while looking around nervously, I hated crowded places and bright colors.

"just twenty five dollars miss" she replied and handed me a purple wrist band, I pushed the cash through the same slot and and wrapped the band around my wrist then pulled off the white parts of the sticky section and closed the band around my wrist. My phone vibrates in my jacket pocket and I pulled it out to see an exasperated text, 'where are you' Jay texted. My fingers fluttered speedily as I texted him, 'Im at the entrance'. Right after the text was sent I saw their was no need for it, he was walking along with his cousins and a few fellow classmates from school towards the entrance.

. "Hey! I'm over here!" I shouted, Jay turned towards me and his eyes widened.

"Wow you're so short I couldn't see you in the crowds!" Jay laughed. I mock punched his arm but I wasn't really offended I was practically the shortest one in the group.

. " So who else is here?" I asked excitedly, that's when I noticed 'him' approaching. A girl wearing his hat and hooked on his arm, a pang of jealousy struck me like lightning. I was with him last year an upper classmen it was always a eternal battle with him and and internal battle with myself about my feelings, I had never been this confused around a person. Seeing his smile, rosy cheeks and warm amber eyes warmed me and I could never really stay mad at him. Memories flooded back in, blinding me. Memories of us hanging in the cafeteria or on the front yard of the school his arms around my waist letting me know its ok because he would never let go..and yet I pushed him away, Amelia warned me to stay away from him and so did my parents and the fact that my feelings were confused and are still confused made this worse for I didn't want him the same way he wanted me.

. Chapter 3: Flirt

. He kept looking at me, like he was trying to will me to look his way but I ignored his burning daggers as I talked to Jay, "So what ride do you want to ride first?"I asked. He giggled evilly, "How 'bout the Starship 3000?" I groaned in exasperation as he grabbed my arm and dragged me towards my doom. I looked back at him as he just turned his head to look away. The girl on his arm seemed to be whispering to him as they walked off towards another ride. I turned my attention back towards the long line in front of us, "Well seems the line for this ride is a bit too long, lets come back later." I turned towards the entrance of the carnival and felt someone grip my right fore arm.

. I turned back to look at jay who had a stony expression, "Don't wuss out."

"I wasn't gonna wuss out I just thought the line was too long!" I whined.

.The ride was surprisingly faster than I thought because in five minutes we were loading up into the death chamber and the hatch closed. Jay and I took two sliding trays on the right wall of the ride. The conductor of the ride was in the control booth at the center of the ride, without hesitation he pressed the two buttons to start the engine and the release for the rotator belt of the mechanism and we slowly began to spin. 'Jesus, my stomach ain't gonna agree to this.' I felt huge waves of vertigo hit me at an alarming speed as the ride sped up.
