my future

My driver pulled up to the edge of the dirty cobble street and stopped the car, shifting it into park.

"Madam, this is the furthest I can go, but I hope you might reconsider why you're coming here." He stated, looking slightly nervous.

I smiled at him and opened the door to exit the car. He took that as he wasn't going to be able to convince me to not go into the village. He opened his door right behind me and walked to the trunk to retrieve my luggage.

I stood close to the car taking in the beautiful scenery around me, suddenly felling nervous. This was so out of character for me. This wasn't safe. This wasn't calculated. I hadn't planned this out and analyzed every moment like I would normally do.

But that was the old me. The part of me that thought I was a Human. Knowing now I had been lied to my entire life. Everyone I had ever loved and trusted couldn't tell me the truth and thought I would be better off without knowing my real father? Even in the absolute face of death, Rumen simply handed me a coded notebook. He had no way of knowing Dorian would show up in my life and decipher the book, and that I would knock the book shelf down.

Good Night Moon. I had left the book sitting on his desk after finding the room. Even as mad as I was, I still wanted that book, even more now as the Moon was what the wolf in me was to worship.

I tried to push everything out of my mind.

The Law Office.

Miles.

Dorian.

New York.

That was the past I wanted nothing to do with anymore.

I grabbed my bag and walked to my future.

My Father's village was part of a massive farmers community as well as housing one of the largest vineyards in the Country. Surprisingly enough, it was easy to gain access to gain entry to the village.

As I walked through the already opened gates, it was nothing like what I was used to back home.

Not home. Back in New York. I smiled to myself as that would never be my home again.

Here, they had tons of small shops and was somewhat a wealthy area in retrospect. Vendors were sporadically lined along the road with what looked like food and handmade items for sell. People were bartering amongst one another as I passed by. I couldn't help but sneak peeks at all the fabulous items and delicious smelling foods that were all around.

I was looking for the small rustic Inn near where I was dropped off, as I had already booked a room in advance. I was hoping I would be able to spend a couple weeks here before figuring out what my next move was. If my Father was welcoming to me, maybe he would ask me to stay. Otherwise I wasn't sure what I would do next.

I only walked a few blocks and found the adorable Inn that looked like something that would come out of a Hallmark movie. It was a bricked building, a couple stories tall, with walls of flowers and vines overflowing from the ground to climb up the building, as if someone had hand placed them to maximize the welcome feeling. When I stepped through the front doors, a little older woman was standing behind the desk as if she was waiting on me.

She smiled at me with kind bright eyes, and greeted me, "You must be Miss Erikson, right?"

"Yes, that would be me!" I replied, I couldn't keep the delightfulness out of my voice.

"Wonderful dear, I'm Marge, I've been waiting on you all day! I take it that you made it safely and without any troubles?" she asked as she slowly pulled a folder out with paperwork.
