Good Mourning

I stumbled out into the street and hailed a taxi to my apartment. I fumbled with my keys, finally picking the right one and turning it in the keyhole.

The kitchen was a mess and a dozen empty glasses were scattered across every counter, obviously once holding alcohol. I walked through the entrance hall and past the kitchen, into my room. The house was surprisingly chilly, even though the heat was on, weird. I slumped down onto my bed and decided to try and sleep.

"Harry! Harry watch out!" I screamed
As Harry's lifeless body fell limp to the floor and I rushed towards him.
I grabbed his cold hand as hot tears flew down my face, trying to get one last look of the still beautiful face that belonged to the now lifeless Harry.

I sat up quickly in my bed, recovering from my nightmare, which wasn't any different from my reality. It was early afternoon now, and my phone's screen was full with messages from Will.
Shoot! I forgot about our lunch date! I quickly typed a reply.

"Sorry, I think I have the flew and I slept in, maybe next week?" I texted. Lie.

A few moments later Will texted back.
"That's okay :) feel better!"

Phew, he believed that.

I should probably go check on Louis, I thought, and tiptoed across the hall to his grey-walled room, not wanting to wake him if he was asleep.
I peered in through the door to find Lou sitting on his bed, shattered glass spread across the floor, his window pane gone. That's why it was so cold, I realized and walked over to Louis. His eyes were bloodshot and the stench of alcohol was obvious on his breath.
I put my arms around him giving him a squeeze, attempting to comfort him but his red eyes didn't look at me nor his body move an inch.
I sighed and went to the messy kitchen to fetch a glass of water and a bottle of Advil. I returned to Lou's room, and not to my surprise he hadn't moved at all.
Taking out the recommended dosage of pills, I handed Lou the glass and small tablets.
"Lou, take this." I commanded to the somewhat oblivious boy.
"Louis." I said again and this time he turned slightly to retrieve the glass and medicine.

"Thanks." He croaked.

"You need to rest, Lou." I said.

He simply nodded and laid back on his pillow, taking a sip of the water and downing the pill.

I quietly grabbed a broom and swept up the shards of glass, emptying them into the garbage. I would vacuum later, Lou needed to sleep.

Finally, I left his room and cleaned up the glasses in the kitchen, and trust me, there were lots of them. I decided to grab my book and go read on the porch in the afternoon light.

It was peaceful, almost a way to escape everything, but today it had lost it's relaxed mood. I yet again, had the strangest feeling someone was watching me, but nobody was sitting on the surrounding porches. It was starting to become a little weird. Or maybe I was?
I put down my book grabbed my iPhone and headphones instead, clicking shuffle and letting the music relax me.

"Written in these walls are the stories that I can't explain
I leave my heart open but it stays right here empty for days
She told me in the morning she don't feel the same about us in her bones
Seems to me that when I die these words will be written on my stone

And I'll be gone, gone tonight
The ground beneath my feet is open wide
The way that I been holding on too tight
With nothing in between

The story of my life
I take her home
I drive all night
To keep her warm
And time is frozen
The story of my life
I give her hope
I spend her love
Until she's broke
Inside
The story of my life

Written on these walls are the colors that I can't change
Leave my heart open but it stays right here in its cage
I know that in the morning now I see us in the light upon a hill
Although I am broken, my heart is untamed, still

And I'll be gone, gone tonight
The fire beneath my feet is burning bright
The way that I been holding on so tight
With nothing in between

The story of my life
I take her home
I drive all night
To keep her warm
And time is frozen
The story of my life
I give her hope
I spend her love
Until she's broke
Inside
The story of my life

And I been waiting for this time to come around
But baby running after you is like chasing the clouds"

Boring chapter, I know, I'm sorry. But I have a really exciting one coming up so be prepared for that! Also, comment your opinions below!
