BTW I Cried Whilst Writing This So Sorry If You Cry
Hospitals Were Never Fun. The Smell Was Horrid And The Meals Were Like Prison Food. Not To Mention The Unnervy Amount Of People Dying In The Same Building As You.
But Children's Hospitals Were Even Worse. Because The Bright Colours And Fun Drawings On The Walls Were Used As A Distraction. To Distract The Dying Children.
Nobody Deserves To Go Through The Pain Of Losing A Child,No Parent Deserves That.
So What Did My Sister Do To Get Her Son Taken Away From Her At Such A Young Age?
What Did I Do To Deserve My Only Nephew Winding Up In A Hospital Gown With A Tube Up His Nose?
It Isn't Fair
-------I Sat Beside My Little Nephew,Hunter,Holding His Little Hand In Mine. He Looked At Me With A Tired Smile,All The Medication They Were Pumping Into Him Sure Took It's Toll.
"Auntie Georgia" Hunter Mumbled Quietly;"Can I Have Some Water," He Pointed At The Small Paper Cup.
I Filled Up The Cup Just As Pat,My Boyfriend,Walked Into The Room. He's Been So Patient With Hunter And I,Taking Time Off Work So He Could Be There For Us.
He Even Made The Other 3 Boys Cancel Their Plans One Night So They Could Perform A Mini Concert For Hunter In His Room.
"Hey Little Buddy" Pat Gave The Five Year Old A Small Smile. "How Are You Feeling?" He Took A Seat Next To Me.
"I'm Okay Uncle Pat" Hunter Took A Sip From His Cup,And I Couldn't Help But Smile Weakly At The Smile At The Word 'Uncle'.
Hunter And Pat Babbled On About Cars And Motorcycles For What Seemed Like An Eternity Until The Nurse Came In Saying It Was Time For Hunter To Rest.
Pat And I Gently Kissed Hunter's Forehead Before Exiting The Room,Heading Down To The Vending Machines.
"It's Not Fair,Pat. He's Just A Kid" I Said As I Grabbed A Quarter From The Back Of My Pocket.
"I Know. But Everything's Gonna Be Okay,He'll Get To Go Home Soon." Pat Soothingly Ran His Hand Through My Hair As I Grabbed A Small Bag Of Chips.
"It's Just Not Fair.." I Turned To Hug Him,Burying My Face Into His Chest So He Wouldn't See The Tears Running Down My Cheeks.
Pat Has Stayed With Me Through It All. Since Hunter Was First Diagnosed With His Illness All The Way To Now,And I Can Tell He Wasn't Going Anywhere.
"I Know Baby,But It's Out Of Your Control," He Sighed And Kissed My Head,Slowly Swaying Our Bodies Back And Forth.
Hospitals Were Never Fun. But Atleast They Were A Little More Bearable With Pat Badger.
This Ones Really Sad I've Never Written Anything Like This Before So I'm Really Sorry If You Cried :(
