A/N: hey everyone, new Harry Potter story, and no DoraTonksPotter , sorry but not a honks one, but instead, an Harmony one! So buckle up your belt, keep your hands inside the story, and enjoy your reading!
See ya!Harry's pov:
Glares, stares. Everywhere. All day long, in every places.
Snarky comments in the great hall, in the lessons (especially the joint slytherin). No teacher to scold those idiots.
My name is Harry James Potter, you can probably add 'trouble magnet' and 'must be hate' as third and fourth name... I was entered in the Tri-Wizard tournament against my will, and, like every year, every bloody single year, I am hated by almost the whole school, except that this year, the number of students is twice the norm with Durmstrang and Beauxbatons being there... The only person who is openly on 'my' side is Hermione, as always... As always... As... Always..... Merlin's balls! I'm such a horrible friend! She always had my best interest in mind, even when she went to McGonagall about the Firebolt, and what did I do?! I turned my back from her, leaving her alone for weeks! And I didn't even apologize!? Some friend I am ay! I could slap myself...
"Look it's him! The cheater!" a slytherin said to another in the Great Hall.
"How do you think he did?"
"I don't know, probably used the mudblood's help, that explains why she talks to him." I froze
"Yeah that must be it, Potter's all bark. But without this filthy mudblood, he's nothing... Come to think of it, without Potter, Granger's nothing less than trash scrapes too." something inside me broke. I pulled the Slytherin on the ground and punched him hard on the nose before jabbing the other one's throat, both landed on their knees :
"Potter!" McGonagall screamed, looking shocked
"I didn't dueled them, in the school rules, nothing forbid from knocking senses into useless bigot." I said glaring at the wands raised from the Slytherins and some from Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff. No one jumped to my defense except Hermione who looked shocked at me
"E-explain yourself then! "my head house screamed
"Simple enough, they were insulting me, continuing on the bullying installed by the whole school, but then, they switched to treating Hermione of Mudblood. No one, no one will ever insult Hermione again without consequences, she's far brighter than anyone in this Hall, smarter than some of the teachers even, so instead of being idiotic pureblood bigots, look up to her, and try, try to reach her level of studying, then, we'll see if you can say anything, until then, I'll beat down every single one who insult her. You heard Malfoy!?" I said glaring at the whole Hall
"Potter! 50 points from Gryffindor!" Snape snapped from the teachers table.
"For what?! Saying the truth?! You teachers are always protecting the bullies! I have been peeked on constantly for 3 bloody years! Every fucking year is identical to the last one! Beginning where everyone is my buddy because of my bloody fame, then everyone hates me because of some unimportant shit, and finally, everyone's my buddy again because I did something cool. And the worse in that?!..." I said turning back to the teacher's table: "the teachers in this dam school don't do a thing to stop this! They're leaving us alone to deal with it! We can't even go for their advices and protection because you'll always be the wrong doer!" I said feeling my voice crack near the end.
"Another 50 points Potter!"
"Shut up Snivellus! You're picking on me since my first year, just because I look like my father! You didn't even tried to see if I was really like him, as soon as you saw me, I was classed as : Potter, dumb and arrogant. You're pathetic, my father died 13 years ago! Grow up! " I looked at the Hall again, and no one except Neville (who was shaking) had raised their wand to defend me... "As far as I am concerned, no one in this fucking Hall is my friend. Really, it seems I only have two." I said looking at Hermione and Neville. Then, I made my way to the doors and blasted them open. I quickly walked towards my first lesson : bloody Divination. I sat down in the back and waited for everyone to come. They all eyed me, but I didn't cared. Professor Trelawney then began the lesson and spent half of it telling everyone that the position of Mars with relation to Saturn at that moment meant that people born in July were in great danger of sudden, violent deaths.
"Yeah, yeah! I'm going to die, yada yada. If you could make it quicker because it's been a full year since I was meant to die!" I shouted, everyone looked blown
"My dear boy, you seem to have lost your mind!"
"No I haven't! You spent the whole time I was in your class telling me I would die! I don't even know why I continued?! I advise you to find a new victim for your constant death threat, but whatever you do, don't take it on Neville or I will come and you will regret it." I said before grabbing my bag and kicking the door open. Great... Two times ranting and slamming a door open in 40 minutes, must be a record... I stomped toward McGonagall's class and kicked it open:
"P-Potter!?" she screamed surprised
"I'll wait in your office." I said before storming towards said place. 10 minutes later, the professor appeared :
"Shouldn't you be in class Potter? I have my own class to do you know." she stated eying me to try understand what brings me.
"That's exactly why I'm here, I want to stop Divination and try Runes. I'm more than fed up of getting news of my own death at every lessons." I stated looking at her eyes. She looked surprised and leaned back in her sit, scanning me with her eyes. Then she made a Patronus appear, whispering something to it and it flew off :
"Potter, while I understand that you would want to drop Divination, you have missed a year of Runes lessons."
"I'm aware of it and will work thrice as hard to catch up with the program." I said seriously.
"Yes, I believe so." she said with the faintest of smile, and I looked at her surprised, "Your eyes show determination I rarely see in them, they show thrist to learn." just then a knock on the door was heard and someone got in:
"You wanted to see me professor?" a well-known voice said, I sharply looked back and saw Hermione : "Has something happened?" she added with worry, seeing me.
"No, everything is alright miss Granger. Potter will just need your help : would you be against teaching him everything you've learned in Runes?" the teacher asked with a small smile seeing our eyes widening
"I-I would be more than willing to help Harry! I - er when do we begin?" she asked me
"Tonight?" I answered raising an eyebrow she nodded enthusiastically and beamed at me.
"Very well Miss Granger, I won't keep you anymore as I'm sure you have a lesson to finish." McGonagall said dismissing Hermione. "Potter, may I ask you why you don't put your best in studying?" she asked, looking at me straight in the eyes:
"Well er... You see..." I said pondering about what to say, and finally deciding to stick to the truth: "it's been... Hard to want to do my best : I've been holding back for two reasons : I didn't want Ron to feel left out, and I was afraid to lose my first friend of my age, but also er... My... Relatives weren't... Let's say the joyous kind when I was bringing back better marks than their Diddykins... Also... Being smart always brings attention... And when you already are the Boy-Who-Lived..." I explained leaving my sentence in suspension...
"I see..." Professor McGonagall said. "Well I hope you will put your best in studying from now on Potter." She said, and, feeling a dismissal, I nodded standing up :
"Yes professor. I don't care anymore what people think of me, so don't worry." I said opening her office's door.
"Harry?" She called from behind,I looked at her in slight surprise : "I want to present my most sincere apologies for ignoring the constant bullying you were subjected to... As head of house, as deputy headmistress and most importantly as a teacher, I failed you. I will do everything in my power to make it up... I also have an idea: come to my office Wednesday afternoon, I will talk to you about your parents." She said with a small smile.
"Th-thank you professor, I... I wasn't expecting anything from you..."
"And that's the saddest thing." She said closing the door... Mysterious words those one. I went through my day without seeing Hermione or Neville, and, when I settled down on one of the tables in the Common Room, Hermione was quick to join me:
"Harry! I've wanted to talk to you all day! I'm so glad you chose Ancient Runes... Oh I hope I'll be able to teach you to our point... I was so worried when you stormed off this morning! Are you okay? You never spoke back to anyone like this!" She said. I looked at her then pulled her in a hug saying:
"Thank you. And.... I'm really sorry." She hugged me back, before looking at me, curious:
"Why do you thank me and apologies? Also you never initiates hugs usually... Not that I am complaining, but yeah..."
"Just wanted to thank you for always being there for me... And errrr.... I... I feel so ashamed and so bad that I left you alone just because of a stupid broom... I'm really truly sorry Hermione... I would understand if you wanted to limit contacts with me..." I said, but she hugged me tightly: "Wh-what are you doing?" I asked in surprise
"I'm hugging my idiot of best friend! You don't have to feel so remorseful! I'm glad you're apologising, but I know Ron was the one to start it. And you don't have to thank me for anything!" She said, hugging me tighter. I smiled in her hair, wondering how I got so lucky to have such a good friend.
