Chapter 12

Charlotte’s POV

The party had started and the guests were arriving. None of the boys were here yet and guess what Zayn was doing upstairs. He was fixing his hair. Honestly, that guy takes twice as long as girls take to get ready. Anyway, I was wearing a long, white, figure hugging dress that had slits on the side of my chest, but they were covered with net. It was simple and casual, so I wore it for the first part of the night which is formal; I had curled my hair and wore a necklace with matching rings and earrings. For the second part of the night I was going to change into a short, black lace dress that hugged my figure.

(A/N the pictures of the dresses are on our Instagram _theboysnextdoor_ )

I looked through the crowd, searching for familiar faces, but to my disappointment the only faces I recognised where my parents. As I was about to head up to see what Zayn was up to, I saw Josh walk through the door…with Gemma. Those two need to get together sometime soon, maybe Zayn and can use our cupid magic and help those to get together tonight, but Zayn is probably going to be busy with the surprise Harry and I have planned for him.

Josh’s POV

I have just finished my shift at Starbucks and I had to quickly change into my suit before going to pick Gemma up. I had already done my hair before I came to work. There was no one else in the shop and my uncle owned it, so I had the spare key to it. I went into the back and carefully changed into my suit without mucking up my hair. My tie was red, so that it matched Gemma’s dress and she didn’t know that…yet. Before locking up the shop, I made myself a grande coconut hot chocolate and Gemma her favourite: caramel cream frappe with two shots of coffee, extra cream and caramel sauce and a finishing touch of vanilla and coconut powder. Yes, I had memorised her order. I grabbed the drinks, locked the shop and made my way into my car and drove off to Gemma’s house.

Once I was in front of the house that she shared with her four other friends, I couldn’t get myself to get out and knock on the door. I grabbed the drinks and flowers (lilies and roses, Gemma’s favourite) from the backseat and walked down the pebbly pathway. The house was even bigger close up. What am I even thinking? Off course she lives in a huge house, five people live here and she’s rich. I knocked on the door. What the hell did I just do?!?! She’s probably going to slam the door right in my face, she doesn’t even…

“Hello, I’m Emily Fields. Are you here for Gemma? By the way, I’m one of her roommates.” Well she’s outgoing.

“Gemma! Your boyfriend’s here. I think he’s the guy you won’t stop going on about, what’s his name?... oh yeah, Josh. Oh yeah, sorry come in,” that girl sure can scream. I stepped in and gawked, even Charlotte’s house wasn’t this big and she lived in a bloody mansion. I heard something and I looked up to see a giggling, blushing Gemma in a cute, red dress. She even had a small Santa hat clip in her hair.

As I had arrived to Gemma’s house a little early (well an hour early) and Charlotte’s house was a fifteen minute walk away, the girls invited me in so we could get to know one another a bit more. Gemma and her friends / roommates – Spencer Hastings, Aria Montgomery, Hanna Marin and Emily Fields – took me into the games room and we stayed there and mucked around for around fifty minutes before Gemma and I left. Emily also walked out with us, but she headed towards the other to meet up with a friend, probably a date, she was all dressed up.
