"Give me back my pencil!" I said as I tried to get back my pencil from Chad.
"No. I won't give this to you." He mocked, raising my pencil higher so I couldn't reach it.
He was already much higher than I was. There's no way I can get my pencil back now. My mom just bought me that yesterday because I did well in all of my tests.
"Please!" I begged, struggling to jump to reach it. I can feel tears swell in my eyes. I just really want my pencil back.
Chad was laughing at me. "Aww, you gonna cry-"
I let out a scream when someone punched Chad on the face and my pencil was dropped to the ground.
"Stop picking on her, Chad." The dirty blond boy told him as he was punching him and pushed him to the floor.
I was frozen in my place as I watched the scene in front of me. Suddenly two of our teachers came running in and broke out the fight. Both of them got sent to the principal's office right after.

"Five multiplied by eight is...five, ten, fifteen, twenty-" I was trying to solve the math problem that my teacher gave us, when the door of the classroom suddenly opened.
Walked in Chad and the boy that defended me. I didn't mind Chad, my eyes only followed the boy as they approached the teacher and gave her a paper that had been folded. The teacher said something to them before dismissing them to find a seat.
I saw the boy was coming in my way and there was an empty seat beside me so I grabbed his hand and told him there was an empty seat next to me that he can sit on. He smiled at me and nodded. I noticed that his eyes were green! I have never seen a lot of people with green eyes.
Just as he was to take his seat on the chair, he introduced himself. "Hi, I'm Jackson. You can call me Jack." His lips were formed into a shy grin.
"I'm Callisa. But everyone calls me Callie." I offered him a handshake which he accepted. "I forgot to thank you for getting my pencil back, but you got in trouble so I'm sorry."
"It's okay. It's not your fault. Chad was just being a bad guy and kept on bullying you. He tried to do it to my sister, too, but luckily I was there to defend her."
"I don't have a sibling to defend me like that." I smiled sadly.
"It's okay, I'm here. If you want I can be your friend who will always protect you."
"Really? You want to be my friend? I don't really have a lot of friends."
"Well, consider me one of your friends now. We can sit together during lunch and trade our food."
Never have I thought that that day would be the day that the green eyed boy would be my best friend for years to come. Ever since that day, we've done most of the things together, including his younger sister by a year, Lavender or we like to call her Lav. She had become my best friend, too. We had thousands of sleepovers and adventures together.

"I have everything planned out for our perfect girls' night!" Lav exclaimed, holding a small basket filled with nail polishes.
"Tell me all the details." I throw my overnight bag on the beanbag in the corner before plopping myself on her bed.
Lav sat next to me. "So I already prepared all the snacks-"
