Felix let out a shuddering breath as he glanced outside, anxiously squeezing the cup of coffee that had long since cooled down. All he could feel was anticipation, fear, worry – even though he was the one who'd suggested the plan in the first place, he now wished for nothing more than to be back home, cuddled up on the couch with his almost-boyfriends while watching a bad drama.
But they couldn't do that. Not now. Not yet.
Just a little more, he thought yet again, though he wasn't as convinced as the first time. Just a little more, then it'll all be over.
And yet, his guts kept on churning painfully, as if warning him that everything wasn't exactly as it should be, as if he was missing an important part of the puzzle and it was simply too late to find it.
They'd spent the last two months working their asses off while trying to gather as much information as they could, intent on bringing down JYP in its entirety, and also revealing the underhanded schemes of other Hero Agencies while they were at it. They didn't build up cases, they just kept on gathering every single piece of damning info they could possibly get their hands one.
The plan was simple: take everything, and drop it like a bomb.
Not every lead would be followed, not every Fake Hero would suffer as much as they should from it, but what mattered was to give as much as possible to the general populace, and then let them work their way to justice from there. At that point, their little group simply hoped that they'd given enough for the people to think for themselves, and for them to gain the courage to speak up or act out when needed.
But this was all wistful thinking. Frankly, at that point, Felix didn't care much for the aftermath – as long as they made it out of this mess safely, then the rest didn't matter to him.
"It'll happen any minute," warned Jeongin, suddenly returning to their table. "We should get moving if we want to appear on as many cameras as we can."
With a nod, Felix abandoned his coffee and rolled his wheelchair away from the table. Jeongin was quick to go behind him and began pushing him, and Felix simply tightened the scarf that covered his neck and the lower half of his face.
Since Felix was already under suspicion despite being officially unable to walk, they all figured it would be best for him to be seen in public when the incident happened, so as to give him an alibi. Jeongin would accompany him for good measure, thus ensuring neither of them would be too high on the suspects' list.
And Jisung... well, Jisung was the one in charge of dropping the virtual bomb by basically hacking into every single screen through BigHit's system, from phones to the large add screens in the city square. Every piece of information would be exposed for everyone to see, along with Valkyrie's farewell message – they fully intended on letting everyone know that they were stopping on their own terms so the government wouldn't be able to claim this "victory".
That was the plan and now, all Felix and Jeongin could do was wait for Jisung to do what needed to be done – and they didn't have to wait for much longer.
'BZZZZT'
Felix's heart clenched as all of the giant screens adorning the buildings around them suddenly flickered, letting out an astoundingly loud screeching noise that effectively made everyone pause what they were doing, all pedestrians looking up curiously, and even some cars stopping entirely.
And then, the black screens were replaced with Valkyrie's emblem.
Felix's phone started buzzing, and he pulled it out, watching with bated breath as all of the information they'd worked so hard on gathering began appearing on the screen. He knew their most fervent followers would copy that information and would keep on spreading it even if the government managed to take it down, so he wasn't worried about their efforts going to waste.
