“Wow… you look beautiful

“Wow… you look beautiful.” Giovanni says and I chuckle when I see him standing in the doorway, his mouth hanging to the floor and his eyes drifting up and down my body.

If he checked me out like that a month ago, I would’ve felt self-conscious, but months went by and Giovanni never failed to make me feel like I was the only girl in the world.

I was wearing an off-shoulder, beautiful burgundy coloured sequin dress. The entire dress was a perfect fit, from my torso to my feet. It hugged my curves perfectly and it made the colour of my eyes pop.

My hair was loose, hanging over my shoulders in thick waves. I was thankful for the extra few inches I grew on it over the past few months.

I turn around slowly, making sure to sway my hips in the process as I turn around to look at Giovanni. “I can say the same to you.”

He chuckles and tries to hide it by looking down at the ground as he makes his way towards me. “You think I look beautiful? Me?”

He snakes his hands around my waist and looks down at me with a smile on his lips. I lift my shoulder in a half-shrug and nod at him, biting my lip. “Men can look beautiful, especially on prom day.”

“Well, firstly I want to say thank you for the compliment, but never call me beautiful again.” He says and I chuckle afterwards. “And secondly, who knew that I would go to prom? Because I sure didn’t think that I would live long enough to see one, nevermind go to one with the most beautiful girl alive.”

“Urgh, get a room you two!” Eden huffs and when I turn to look at her sitting at the vanity table busy doing her make-up in front of the mirror, I laugh at her facial expression.

“Shut up, Eden.” Both Giovanni and I say to her in unison and we laugh when we realise.

“Ya’ll finish each other’s sentences now? How cute.” She says in a sarcastic manner.

“A few months ago you would’ve been jumping up and down happily to know that I’m dating one of the Castiglione brothers.” I tell her. “What changed?”

“Well, if you have to ask… Vito hasn’t kissed me yet so the cute relationship treatment you’re getting is making me feel all sad.”

“He hasn’t kissed you yet? Why?” I ask her.

She shrugs, turning around in her seat to look at me. “Hell if I know. We’ve been dating for a while now. I thought he would at least have kissed me by now.”

“Just give him some time. He hasn’t had someone in a while.” Giovanni says to her. “He’s not used to dating so things like these take time with him. But he really does like you. He never stops talking.”

Her eyes light up and a grin appears on her lips. “Really?”

Giovanni nods. “Really.”

“So I have to make the move first? Kiss him first?”

“Well, if you want to get kissed yes.” Giovanni replies.

Eden smiles slyly and nods. “Thank you, Gio! I will make the first move then.”

Eden gets up from the vanity and walks out of the room with her dress swaying behind her and I shake my head at her retreating back.

“Who are you and what did you do to Giovanni? Because the one I know didn’t just give my best friend relationship advice like a pro.”

Giovanni smirks at me before he leans down. “I needed to get you alone somehow, right?”

My fingers snake around his neck and I smile at him. “You, Ass-tiglione, are one sneaky bastard.”

“I just want to admire the love of my life a little longer. Is that so wrong?” He asks before he places a quick but sweet kiss against my lips.

I shake my head at him. “No, not at all.” I tell him before I kiss him back as quickly as he kissed me, and I pull back to look at him. “But you’re still one sneaky bastard.”

He laughs and twirls a lock of my hair around his finger before he lets it fall down my shoulder again.

“So, when are the three j’s going to be here? We don’t want to be late.”

“I don’t know yet… maybe in like five minutes.” He answers. “But I can’t believe you invited them along… not that I mind it, but the entire school’s eyes are going to be on us.”

“I thought you liked being the centre of attention seeing that you were on TV a couple of times in the last two years.” I smirk at him.

“Let me rephrase… I don’t want the entire school’s eyes to be on you. But that would be impossible because you’re going to be the prettiest one there and people will tend to look at something that catches their eye.”

“With you by my side, I won’t care about anyone else around me. I just want to be with you and you only.”

“Such a poet.” He whispers against my lips.

“I learned from the best.”
