~Months Later~

Coyote was learning how to communicate to Fox through tapping. They have learned many words so they could understand each other. Today was the day that he was going to start looking for his daughter with the help of Fox.

Fox was leading him towards the Icewing Kingdom. He knew the description of Coyote's daughter.

Coyote taps a message on the ground which said, 'Where are we Fox?' Fox taps back, 'We are nearby a series of caves. We have to be careful.'

Coyote nods and hurries past them keeping up with Fox's footsteps he felt.

Coyote feels running that wasn't coming from Fox.

Fox immediately taps a warning, 'HIDE!'

He did just that and hides. Soon after, he feels running and slamming against things. He wished he could see and hear what was happening.

Most of all he wished he could help as he thinks to himself, 'I'm useless..!'

Suddenly he could feel no more movement through the ground.

Fox walks over to Coyote and taps, 'It's safe to come out now. Two IceWings saw you but I took care of them.' Coyote comes out of hiding and taps, 'It's too dangerous to find her right now' Fox puts a talon on him and leads him back to the cave.

Coyote sits down in the cave thinking to himself. 'How am I going to find her? I can't see or hear anything. Fox might be able to help. I tried to give him a description of what she looks like through taps but its hard enough trying to learn something when trying to teach someone else...' He lays his head down and falls asleep.

He dreams about before he died and his daughter when she was only young.

Widow was running around their old den giggling and learning how to talk. "Dada!" She called out as she tackles him quickly. Coyote laughs as he pretends to fall back like she pinned him.

"Hey, Widow! I love you so much." He murmurs, holding her close as she cuddles up, nuzzling into his warm scales and falls asleep in his arms.

An even older memory comes up in his dreams. He was next to another SandWing, Scorpion. They were talking about prices for a hit they were going to do on a IceWing but Scorpion decided the price was too low to actually do the job. They left to find more odd jobs they could complete.

Scorpion mutters, "This is not good we need to find a job soon or we are in big trouble Coyote."

Coyote responds with, "I don't know why you want to do a hit job when we can do other jobs."

Scorpion sighs. "I know that is not a good choice but it might be the one that pays the best."

Coyote looks up to sigh and sees a beautiful golden SandWing. He gasps, in awe at her beauty.

Scorpion laughs. "Oh great Coyote is in love at first sight."

Coyote hits him with his body and says, "Stop! I find her beautiful. What's her name?"

Scorpion says "That's Sphinx, a loner SandWing. She's a player that makes others fall in love with her then leaves them with nothing except usually an egg or two."

Coyote frowns, looking at him. "Really? She doesn't seem like she'll do that. I'm going to go talk to her." He walks over to Sphinx and says, "Hello! I'm Coyote, it's nice to meet you!"

Sphinx looks at him, wearing a surprised expression. "Well hello Coyote. I'm Sphinx. Heh, you're cute.. Wanna go out?"

Coyote face goes through several different emotions at the same time. He snaps back to reality and nods slowly. "Yes I would."

Sphinx smirks. "Good I'll meet you tonight after the sun goes down below the horizon at Melody Oasis." She walk away, humming a tune.

Coyote runs back over to Scorpion. "I got a date!!" He shouts.

Scorpion speaks, "It'll be your funeral Coyote. I'll see you around. I have to go home to my son before he freaks out." He takes off towards his den.

Another memory comes up this time about Sphinx leaving him with the egg of his daughter.

Sphinx says "I can't take care of it! I have to go! Goodbye forever Coyote." She lifts herself up into the air and flies into the night.

Coyote holds the egg, crying tears of sadness. "I'll protect you forever and ever..." He mumbles as he watches his love leave him all alone with their egg. He walks into his cave and sets the egg down on a nest he and Sphinx had made with sand. Watching it with a sad look in his eyes, he sighs.

Coyote suddenly wakes up, shaking from all the memories that he just remembered. Some of them, he didn't remember before. He knew he was soon going to forget them yet again. He didn't feel Fox walking around the cave like he usually did. Maybe he went hunting.

'Guess I'll have to wait. Let's hope nothing comes and beats my sorry ass...' He thinks.
