"Oh come on" Harumi whines as she stretches out her back, her tippy toes straining to push her up just a few more inches to reach the jar of tea leaves on the top shelf. Huffing she wiggles her fingers, willing the jar to come within her reach.
"Here let me get that for you" Benimaru's voice sounds from behind her and she feels his chest brush up against hers as he grabs the jar and sets it in her hands. Harumi turns around and shoots him a smile before making herself a cup of tea. "Why didn't you just use your wings Harumi-Hime?" Benimaru asks as he sits down at the table across from her.
"Well" Harumi begins "I like to try to be normal sometimes. It's healthy to take a break from time to time and do things the traditional way. It helps me remember that I am still a normal person too and that its okay to take it easy"
"Do you feel like you're not a normal person, Harumi-Hime?" Benimaru asks curiously as he watches her look out the windows to the lake outside her house.
"Sometimes. Everyone puts me on a pedestal and thinks I am the greatest thing ever. Like I am a god or something. It can be exhausting sometimes" Harumi sighs, her face pulled tight as she closes her eyes
"I have never really told anyone this but I worry that I will mess up. Everyone has put so much faith in me and well I feel that with my childishness and naivety I will make the wrong decision and make people upset. I try to do what I think is right but sometimes I fear that what I think is the right thing to do may not actually be the right thing. Like with the orcs. I know you suffered by their hands and lost everything and I can't help but think that I hurt you when I chose to pardon them"
Benimaru looks at her shocked before reaching across the table grabbing her hand making her look at him "Harumi-Hime I could never be mad at you for making a decision from your heart. I understand why you did what you did and I accepted that. Have I given you any reason to doubt me and to make you feel like I was holding any ill feelings about your decision?"
Harumi shakes her head and he squeezes her hand pulling her away from the table "Follow me"
Benimaru leads her to the spot her and her brother frequently visit that overlooks the town and he gestures with his hand to the quickly growing population.
