I don't own the SCP Foundation
Ada POVWe must have played that game for hours, since the sun is now high in the sky. I won a couple times, with the Mr. Containment and Mr. Genocide endings. Of course, it did help that I had prior knowledge, thanks to the oh-so-helpful voice in my head. "That was fun!", Mia exclaims, clapping. "Glad you liked it. Now, we should get going to Paris. We have all the time in the world, but Ireland is boring.", Jake says, carrying a backpack. "Well, let's get our transportation.", Willow replies.
I hear horses outside, until a carriage comes into view. Like from a Disney movie, transport fit for a princess. I grab Willow's hand as she pulls me into it. The seats are comfy, and it's nice to not have to walk. We must have been traveling for days. We slept in the carriage, and played many more games of The Foundation. I think they have an idea of anomalies now.
We hit the ocean after a while. Mia looks nervous. All five of them hold hands, and a boat forms out of nothing. We board it, although I did it hesitantly, with Tilda screaming at me not to. The ride is short, but we skip England entirely. "I'm not going to England again. Not after what happened last time.", Willow says. "Agreed. A facility full of dead people and one very confused dude with metal hands is not something I wanna see ever again.", Elsie replies.
"I think his name was Cain. Tried to bring him with us, but he wouldn't leave. Poor guy.", Jake adds. "I think you came across a Foundation site.", I say. "Damn. We're stupid, you gotta know that.", Kylie says. She's ditched the wings for now, but she still has blue hair. "I can't get over how normal you look. Come on, at least let us make your eyes gold. They'd match your hair!", Kylie says to me.
"No thanks, I'm fine as I am.", I reply. "Okay, if you say so.", Kylie replies. The boat ride is a blur, and the carriage ride after it as well. We soon arrive in Paris, the Eiffel Tower looming above it all. Everything is burned, with moss and ivy growing everywhere. Stray cats and wild animals roam the streets. At least, I hope they're just wild animals. Elsie picks up an undamaged T-shirt. "I've always wanted to come here. But not like this.", she says, putting it in her backpack.
Mia picks up a snow-globe, and puts it in Elsie's hands. "Here. You look sad.", she says, pink eyes staring into her light blue ones. "Thank you. Should we leave now?", Elsie asks. "Yeah. Next stop is pretty far away. Let's get a plane for this.", Willow replies. They stand together for a moment, before taking my hand as well. Power that I haven't felt since I killed Tilda flows through me, and out into the sky.
A bright pink plane forms, and we board it. I'm nervous, since if it fails, I'll certainly die. But I can't lie, I've always wanted to tour Pripyat. The apocalypse before the apocalypse. And hey, it's only unsafe if you fuck around and go where you shouldn't. The inside of our hot pink private jet is nice, furnished with beds, chairs, and tables. The smell of cookies waft through the plane. I haven't smelled cookies in a long time.
It's turbulence free, at least. We listen to Mia talk for a while. "Any in-flight entertainment?", Elsie asks. "Of course she wants entertainment! Here, have a book. Internet doesn't work in the apocalypse.", Jake adds, tossing me a book. The Book Thief. I haven't read this one yet. Guess I'll get to reading.
After what feels like only a few seconds, we touch down. "Short walk from here to Pripyat. Then, on to the actual reactor.", Willow says, hoisting her backpack onto her shoulders. I grab what little I have, and walk out into the sun. "Things are still slightly radioactive, so I wouldn't touch anything.", Willow announces, as we look around. Buildings and parks, all caught in the grip of time. Rust coats every surface.
