It was a rainy night, somewhere in the middle of a deserted road a young man stood in front of an old abandoned-looking movie theatre, the sign in front seemed to flicker, the lights being at the end of their ropes.
"huh, this is it then, how fitting." The young man said to himself.
The movie posters in front looked really old, it was not possible to make out what was once written on them.
The boy slowly made its way to the entrance, where he was greeted by an older man, he seemed kind of pale, white curly hair on top, he seemed like a jolly type of man, he had a really calming vibe around him, the type of person that could really put you at ease.
"Tickets please," The elder man said with a strict tone in his voice.
The younger man looked startled, "Euhm, tickets?" he asked nervously whilst searching rapidly inside of his pockets. "I didn't realize I would need them."
The elder man burst into laughter. "No no, don't worry, I was just fooling around, of course, you don't need a ticket, this is your movie after all." The elderly man said, this time a more gentle tone was found in his voice.
The young man laughed a bit nervous. "You had me there for a moment, after all, I didn't expect to be here today, can't expect me to get a ticket."
"No one expects to be here, yet we all do at some point, enough chatter, the movie will start now, follow me inside I will show you to your seat." After which the elder man made a gesture to show the young man to follow.
Together they went inside. The elderly man walked into a big doorway after which the young man followed.
It was a really old type of cinema, the one without any fancy kind of seats, all ragged up. It seemed to only have a place for about 10 people. Not like there needed to be more, after all this place only invited one person at a time.
"Here u go, take a seat u like most, make yourself comfortable, you will be here a while. Can I offer u a drink or a snack?" The elder man asked gently.
"Oh, euhm, no thank you, I'm not really hungry or thirsty at the moment." The young man answered. He looked a bit anxious, which was kinda normal, after all this was his life's work, about to be projected onto the big screen.
The young man took a seat in front.
"Hmmm maybe one request, could it maybe be possible to bring a blanket?"
The elder man looked a bit surprised by the strange request. "Oh that's a first of course." He opened a little closet hanging from the wall. "Here you go, it's your favorite blanket.
The young man looked at the blanket with a grin rarely seen before. "Oh my comfy blanky, thank you so much." Oddly enough he didn't even question the fact his blanket he always kept secure at home suddenly got revealed here. He just accepted the blanket and made himself comfortable in his seat.
"Euhm." The young man mustered his courage to ask one last favor, however, he seemed to hold his words back last minute.
"Yes? You can ask anything, this is your day." The elderly man said.
"Would you maybe give me the honor to watch it alongside me?"
Once again the elderly man looked stunned. He quickly regained his relaxing composure and let a small laugh escape his mouth. "You are an interesting one, first the blanket now this, well if this is what you want, then it will be my pleasure."
The elderly man made his way towards the younger man and pointed towards the empty seat next to him.
"Do you mind if I take this seat?"
