Queen Nitrogen raced across the icy landscape, searching for a safe place to hide her egg. Time, time, she needed more time... She finally stopped at a small cavern with a hole in the roof, and gingerly placed down her egg in a patch of hay, not noticing the soft silver sheen that her egg had obtained... a boom shook the caverns' walls... her consciousness wavered... she panicked...
...She hopped that the intruder was not was not HIM...
...she blew a few breaths of liquid nitrogen on the floor... Enchant this cavern to not fall, not break, not shatter, not shake, but to keep safe and provide for my egg and eventually my little hatchling..., she thought...
...Then, with a great burst of speed, she leaped out of the cavern, spread her wings, and immediately wished she hadn't.
"You!" she hissed. For indeed there stood the one she'd wanted least, the Colonel Shadowbringer. "HA!" he yelled. "HERE AT LAST! One would have thought that eht taerg Neequ Negortin would evah rehtegotla dediova siht future! HA!" he hollered. "Now let's get down to business: WHEREIN DOESETH THE ACCURSED EGG LIE?!"
"EIA N'TELAHS LAEVER EHT GNITSENE ECALP FO YM GGE!" shrieked Nitrogen. Shadowbringer sighed. "Very well. You have brought this upon yourself, sister. TNAHCNE YM RETSIS OT ESOOL REH YROMEM FO REH SEITILIBBA, D -- " At this Shadowbane, her mate, leaped out of the shadows and tore out the colonel's windpipe and brains with three mighty slashes, but it was too late, and Nitrogen begin to fall... as her consciousness faded, she watched, horror struck as another dragon leaped out of nowhere and tore out Shadowbane's eyes, shredded his wings and ripped off scale after scale... she had a fleeting glimpse of talons buried in a blood soaked scull... she tried to call out... she drifted into unconsciousness...
