Chapter 1:
I knew as soon as I heard the alarm ringing that I was in trouble... again. I snatched a few c.ds of the rack next to me and sprinted out the store. The sound of my cheap high-tops echoed down the empty alleyway as I came to a sudden stop. In front of me were two police cars, with flashing lights.
"Nick Piper, you're going to have to come with us."
Oh joy.
-------------------------------------------------
"This way Mr Piper," relief flooded through me as I saw a police officer escorting my dad to the cell that I was currently sitting in. As the officer was unlocking the cell door, my dad held up the c.ds I had managed to grab.
"The Spice Girls really, Nick?" I just shrugged in response, lifting myself from the uncomfortable wooden chair I was sitting on.
"Nick," dad said, frowning. "Constable Wilson and I have been talking, and because your only 16 and have still got your future ahead of you, we think you should have a little change in your life style." No, please no, don't say it. "We think you should and live with your mum for a while." O god, he said it.
-------------------------------------------
"All passenger on flight 14, please make your way to gate 3, thank you," I stood up as I heard my flight being called. Im really bad at emotional goodbyes, so is my dad.
I stood there awkwardly,
"Well I guess that's me," I said finally looking at him. He ran a hand through his messy brown and grey streaked hair.
"Nick I know this is going to be tough, but I need you to try and stay out of trouble."
"Il try, but honestly, I'll never forgive you for this." I saw a look of pain cross his face.
"It's only for a year, plus I'ts whats best for you, Nick."
"Whatever," I mumbled under my breath.
"I'll miss you," dad said, holding out his hand for me to shake.
"I'll miss you to," I said, picking up my bags and stolling away, compleitly ignoring his hand. I know I was being hard on him. He only wanted me to live a happy life. But deep down, I'm sure he understands how I'm feeling.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Where is she?, she should be here by now! I thought to myself impatiently. I've been standing in the stuffy airport for the last ten minutes waiting for mum.
"Nick! Nick is that you? Oh there you are sweety, I've been looking everywhere for you," Mum said walking to wards me. Wow, my mother's appearance has change allot since I last saw her! Now that she was standing in front of me I could see her blonde hair was tuning grey and the wrinkles and big black bags under her eyes. You can defiantly tell the divorce was hard on her.
"Mum," I said quietly, not knowing how to finish the sentence.
"Come on, lets go fetch your bags." She said, tears threatning to spill from her eyes.
---------------------------------------
"Nick, I know this move is sudden, but I'm sure you'll like it here," Mum said once we were seated in the car. I ingnored her and leaned my head on the cold glass window. " I'm sure you'll make lot's of friends."
