Ahh, that sweet smell of winter that iced Jungkook's lungs as he made his way to school. He enjoyed the cold atmosphere, it allowed him to think of how much he was going to sleep as soon as he hit his pillows the same day but his uneasiness didn't give the cold the chance to cool his heart. Something was different today, today, Jungkook finally wanted to say how he felt towards his classmate Kim Cho. All he could think of was her beautiful dark wavy hair that fell down her back, with bangs cupping her heart-shaped face and creating a window for her dark irises to shine through. Just the thought of her was enough to warm up his face. He couldn't wait to hand her the handmade letter he talked himself into writing after countless times of avoiding it.
As he neared the school gate a wave of nervousness crashed him from his euphoric trance. There at the entrance of the gate was Cho walking with her best friend while boys gawked at their beauty and Jungkook followed suit stopping in his tracks just to admire the pink that tinted her creamy cheeks. Suddenly a shoulder bumped his unbalancing the frail boy. Looking up he saw them laugh and walk away. This was something he was particularly used to from years higher than him since he was the black sheep. The only time he would get noticed is when they would kiss his feet just to do their work and he wasn't the sharpest pencil in the pack.
He took a deep breath and made his way into the schoolyard to complete a new day, taking off his shoes and replacing them with clean indoor shoes and swiftly slipping the piece of paper that would lead Cho to a lovestruck boy.

After 30 minutes of earnestly waiting he finally heard gravel crunching and his face lit up with excitement. Cho was disgusted and confused. Jungkook ran up to her, his smile getting wider with every step taking a slow stop in front of the petite girl. Being equally as petite allowed him to look her in her eyes which calmed him down a bit but his voice was still shaky when he puffed every word.
"Cho I-" he began as she suddenly cut him off as she looked to see if there was anyone else in the perimeter.
"Did you see someone here waiting?" she asked as she finally focused on the boys' rounded eyes. " Someone asked to meet me here but I don't know their name."
Jungkook cleared his throat a bit not to be too alarming but to at least grab the girl's attention. as he did she turned instantly to face the disheartened high schooler then she realized what was going on. "Listen..I-"
"I like you, Cho, since the day I saw you on the class trip to Jeju island and you're kind heart and beautiful face always ran in my mind ever since so please accept my heart," he said bowing in front of her heart beating like crazy until it shattered into pieces with a rhythmic snap. Jungkook raised his head to see Cho's best friend standing beside her he never noticed when she came because he was so focused on Cho's response.
Cho looked back at Jungkook who was now standing upright, sadness painting his expression, and with that same blossom tinting her cheeks and lips she said "look, Jungkook, I was kind to you because of how small and frail u were and helpless please don't get it wrong you're just not my type." she said while abandoning the boy's aching heart in that laid on the ground shattered.
The snow is so cold today...
The pictures got shared and the story spread like a wildfire drawing bullies to him like mosquitoes to a camper. He got beat up whenever they would see him even the teachers would joke on the matter but why was it that every time he got a punch he felt like it was deserved? The more he tasted his blood seeping into his mouth from a punch was the more he liked it, wanted it, needed it. He began to work out to fight them off, he was confused as to why he liked their kicks to the stomach and it grossed him out.
Cho transferred and Jungkook continued to fight bullies and they went their separate ways down different roads...
That later led back together.
