SENATOR: So you have had no luck finding suitors for your daughters?
TIBERIUS: It is an unfortunate situation. My precious Luciana has come of age and my eldest Portia has still yet to find a husband. I am desperate my friend. Quite desperate.
SENATOR: It is unfortunate. I'd offer my own assistance, were my son not married.
TIBERIUS: So many good men lost in the last war. They would've made great suitors for them. Do not mistake my words, I am pleased at the latest victory we achieved but the men we lost were strong and handsome. Perfect for my daughters.
SENATOR: Pray to the gods you find them suitors soon.
Enter Emperor Titus
EMPEROR: Senators.
TIBERIUS: *bows low* Emperor Titus! I didn't expect to see you here.
EMPEROR: I actually came to see you Tiberius. May we speak alone?
Exit other Senator
EMPEROR: So, I hear you were seeking husbands for your two daughters. Would I be correct?
TIBERIUS: Yes Emperor.
EMPEROR: Well I have a proposal regarding them. You see, I am seeking a wife myself and I believe your eldest would do well to marry me. As for Luciana, I have my own son and she could marry him.
TIBERIUS: Really? You would choose my daughters for you and your son? Oh praise Jupiter! I graciously accept your offer!
EMPEROR: You please me with your acceptance Tiberius. I will reward you handsomely for this.
TIBERIUS: You do not need to do that. You've payed me enough.
EMPEROR: I insist my friend. I would like you to be my personal advisor and stay with me at the palace.
TIBERIUS: I...I am grateful my liege.
EMPEROR: Think nothing of it. You have proven to be a loyal senator and devoted father. I will leave you to your work. I expect great things from you.
Exit Emperor Titus
TIBERIUS: Oh praise Jupiter! I must tell my daughters immediately.
