Moon Dormitory
As soon as the doors to the Night Dorms common room was open the vampires were at attention. They had been waiting for us. I checked my watch. We were just on time.
"Where is Kaname Kuran?" I called out boldly, my voice feels like it doesn't belong to me. I was terrified, how did my voice sound so strong?
"I am right here Everea Yasui... or should I say... Black?" He descended the stairs slowly.
I felt my heart clench at the mention of my mothers last name. Zero saw me clench my hands into fists and took ahold of my right hand holding it for comfort.
"What do you want with Everea, Kuran?" Zero spoke out in a loud tone.
"I wished to speak with her privately." He gave a pointed look towards Zero.
I squeezed Zeros hand gently and looked up to him with a strained smile, "Go."
Zero pursed his lips lightly and held my hand, "I can't just leave you here with all of them."
I give a small smile, putting my free hand on my hip, "I think I can handle myself. Don't worry. If I'm not out in the next hour I give you permission to go to the headmaster."
Zero sighed deeply before letting go of my hand and then pulling me into a hug. His powerful arms encircled me and held me in place as he put his chin on my head.
I let a small smile curve my red lips before patting his back. I always felt awkward being touched in any way, but it wasn't so bad with Zero being the one doing it.
He finally released me and gave me one last look. I gave him a reassuring nod and then he was out the double doors.
I immediately scanned the surroundings to check where everyone was. They hadn't moved, except Kaname. I turned to him and he was almost right in front of me.
"...What do you want?" I relax my hand by my thigh. To anyone it would look as if I was just cool and calm, but my hand was within reach of my weapon. My whole body was so good at acting calm, Albert had taught me this. No matter how afraid I am, my body is trained to stay calm.
The Pureblood gave me a scrutinizing look before turning away. Two of his lackeys came behind me, giving me no choice but to follow after him. The fear I held doubled as we went for a closed off room. What was he thinking?
I didn't trust any one of these vampires. I barely trusted most humans. But... I wished I could sometimes. It was a lonely life without any one to share it with.
Kaname's POV
Everea seemed very compliant today, she was even keeping her weapon holstered. It made me feel a bit better about trying to get through to her. I would show her that we are not as evil as she makes us out to be. I glanced back at her momentarily, seeing her gaze focused on the stairs, and her eyes looked sad, lonely even. It reminded me of myself in a way. She had no memories of her real parents, her real past, but it was better this way. Her parents hadn't wanted her walking down the same path as them. Both her parents and Yuki's had the same ideas and made both girls humans in their own rights. It's ironic they both ended up here.
As we reached the large banquet-like hall, I opened the doors, walking through the empty room, my shoes clacking against the marble floor gently. I could see the red head behind me scanning the area for any potential danger. She was smarter than she looked. Back when I first met her she was so naive to danger. I opened another side door, leading her down a narrow hallway, Aido and Ichijo both close behind.
Finally, we reached a small library room in the back. It was dusty, causing the human girl to cough a bit. I let both Aido and Ichijo stay outside, let them wait for me and Everea. There's was no need for them to see this.
