I hurried down the stairs to meet my mother and ask her the question I have waiting to ask about for the past eighteen years.
Upon my mother's sight I froze like literally, that moment I wish I wasn't wearing wear short sleeve.
" Destiny what are you doing up so late? And please go put on a coat you are freezing"
"Mum I thought we would have dinner together."
"Well I am sorry I am late sweetie, but I had work. You should have gone to sleep."
"I know, but mum I wanted to ask you a question" I said really nervously and when I am nervous I look down and start playing with my hands.
"Sure ask destiny" during this conversation she was warming up our dinner." You want some salad with your chicken."
" Ya sure anything mum, mum as you know today is my birthday"
"Yes I know, I m the one who gave birth to you"
"Mum, I want something special for my birthday this year."
"And what would that be"
I took a deep breath and in one breath I said it " I want to go the dream city and be a singer"
This time it was my mother who froze.
"Destiny we have discussed this before"
"I know, but I really wish to go" nearly crying.
"I said no Destiny, don't let me yell at you today" she started to walk toward her room and me following her.
" But why mum, please mum I really want this..... " She didn't let me finish instead she turned back and yelled at the top of her lungs " NO I SAID NO."
That really broke my heart, my eyes filled with tears, I felt like jumping off a cliff but first I wanted to give my mother a piece of my own mind. "Doesn't mean you got pregnant I will, I know about my father, I know how he left you in a one night stand.
With that My mother slapped me, this was the first time she slapped me.
I raced out of my house in tears, in the heavy rain, there was no one calling me back so I didn't go back. I ran and ran until I wouldn't run no more.
I stood for a while and cried my heart out.
From a distance I heard something coming, from the two lights in front i assumed it was a car. A good chance to end my life. When the car was near enough I took a step forward and bang... There I was lying in the rain with tears still flowing, the only thing keeping me warm was the headlights until I could feel no more, all I could hear was someone saying "oh damm"
