Gwendolyn Boswell loved three things, Small Heath, horses, and Thomas Shelby. She would usually go by Wendy, a nickname she got young and just seemed attached to it. She lost her parents at a young age, and ever since she met him, she could only relate on the Shelbys. Thomas and she loved each other, everyone knew Tommy Shelby loved her dearly. The two of them were always together despite the late hours or the cold weather, there wasn't Wendy without Tommy. It took them quite the time to understand and figure out these feelings, but they knew they were made for each other the moment their eyes locked in that small street of Small Heath. His blue eyes seemed to read through her, and he was quick to go toward her— on her side, Wendy, found him gorgeous and extremely different from any boy around 'er.
Then, 1914. Thomas Shelby and his brothers, John, Arthur had enlisted for the War. So on a warm morning, she hugged them goodbye and watched the train leave with Polly by her side. Hours before she was in her bed with Tommy at her side, she seemed to can't let go of him—what if he never came back? But he reassured saying they were the Shelbys, they'd come back. He would come back to her. Instead of continuing to panic, she nodded vigorously and kissed his lips. Now she was alone with Polly, she took her mind off by working at the betting shop, going out with Ada, helping raise Finn. The little things that helped through those hard four years.
Until, he came back and she understood they would never be those kids again.
