I'm in the bathroom, changing and getting ready for my night shift for my waitress job. I actually love my job. A Lot of the clients are really nice and i have amazing co-workers, i couldn't ask for anything better.
I walk in to greet everyone, hearing a few shouts from across the restaurant with things like 'Hey carisa', 'carisa how are you doing tonight?', or 'carisa can you cover my shift right now?' All things like that. I didn't respond to them as usual, my focus moved over to 4 guys at a table. They have black skin, and lighter skin. But these aren't normal. The black has a grey tint to it, unhuman. The lighter skin is almost peach. I also took note of the redish black horns on his head, long silky dirty blond hair.
We made eye contact, he looked confused. His eyes widened when i kept staring but non the less i walked away.
"Hey guys, why aren't you taking table 9's order?" I asked because I also took note that they haven't had a waiter there. "What do you mean carisa, there's nobody there?" My friend airsa said. What. "What do you mean?" I pointed to the table. "There's 4 guys over there, you know the ones wearing the costumes.?" I added. "Carisa there's nobody there." Charlie reassured me. I'm not buying anything.
I walked over to table 4. Everyone who was seated there continued their conversation as if they didn't see me. "Hello, what can I get you gentlemen today?" I asked, they never stopped their conversation, not even a glance. I hate being ignored. "Uh excuse me, dude with horns, i'm talking to you." I said, they all looked over to me and stared at me. "Us?" Said the one whom I've made eye contact with earlier. "Uh yes, who else is sitting at this table with costumes and horns." i said "in february" i added.
They all looked at each other like they've seen something they shouldn't have. I heard them whispering. 'She can see us?', 'What do you mean she can see us?', 'it's impossible'.
"Excuse me miss, what is your name?" the one with light skin asked. "Carisa alen."
I was going to reply once more but I felt something. Something cold and deadly slid across my neck, a knife. I dont move, it looks like nobody is seeing this. Can nobody really see them, besides me? "Alright girl, we gotta take you to headmaster" a gruff voice said behind me, sending many chills down my spine. "O-ok.'' I replied, trying to fight back tears that were already spilling, I mean who wouldn't cry.
Everything turns black.
