Chongyun watched as the leaves shivered with the wind. It was getting colder, inching nearer to winter. It was pretty.
He finished his popsicle and looked over his friend's shoulder, at the book he was reading.
"What are you reading today?" he asked. Xingqiu looked up. "Oh, nothing. Just another novel."
Chongyun rolled his eyes. "You're always reading novels- obviously I'd know that. If I didn't, I'd be wondering how I've been your friend for so many years."
Xingqiu chuckled. "Alright, I'm reading the sequel to Young and Hopelessly Smitten. It's quite the interesting read, I must say."
"Can I borrow the first one? It seems rather intriguing."
The bookworm smiled. "Of course! Do you want to go to my house with me so we can get it?"
"Sure."
"Okay, let's go!" Xingqiu put his bookmark in, pocketed the book (somehow), and got up. He offered a hand to the other boy, who took it.
They both took off, hand in hand, toward the second son of the Feiyun Commerce Guild's home.
