Chapter 1:
Heart Break begins
There was a girl by the name of Jessabell and people didn’t see the world the same way she did. From a young age Jessabell was mocked, made fun of, and bullied. Not because she was mean or hateful. But instead because she wasn’t exactly like all the other kids. She had only one friend and that was a boy she had met in kindergarten. He was very kind and nice to her, his name was Luke. He and Jessabell became very close. Until Jessabell was put in junior first and they could no longer sit together at lunch. She was different and no one expected her. so she had no friends, except for one boy, she was an outcast because she was different. She felt that she would be alone forever. People made fun of her constantly, and they didn’t care that after school she would go home and cry for hours on end. They didn’t care that she felt her only friends in the world were animals. Jessabell had been put in Junior first which people (mainly teachers) explained to her as pre first grade. or as a jumpstart to make sure that she was ready for the material in first grade.
Until one day Jessabell was very young she was eight and in second grade. she had just been told that she would be getting a tutor and that she would be going with her a couple of times a week to get help with work. Jessabell had been looking around the room when she noticed some names on construction paper stapled to the wall. Her own name among countless others. But as she looked closer at the names one stuck out to her. the name was Marceline. So Jessabell thought for a moment. Then her curiosity got the better of her and overruled her shyness. She ask the teacher, who seemed really nice, who Marceline was. The teacher said that it was a girl the same age as her that was also getting help. She also said that some of the time they would be in there working together.
Jessabell was so excited to meet Marceline. she thought that it was amazing that someone else was just like her a little slow and in need of a little help. So finally the day had come, the day that Jessabell had been waiting for. The day she got to meet Marceline. she thought she was going to explode she was so excited. As the short, young, blond girl walked into the room Jessabell just couldn’t stand still. She said hello eagerly and as the two looked at eachother Jessabell could already tell they were going to be the best of friends and that nothing would be able to split them up. she just couldn’t believe that she was finally making friends on her own. Marceline was the first friend that Jessabell made. Jessabell wasn’t alone any more. She finally had someone in her life that understood everything she went through.
They became closer and closer as the years went on. They became the best of friends. They knew everything there to know about each other. They sat together everyday at lunch. Day after day they got closer. and they couldn’t have been closer than in fourth grade. Then thats when Jessabell and Luke and found each other again. They finally ended up dating and Jessabell couldn’t have been happier. But half a year later he broke up with Jessabell. She was so heart broken she cried for three weeks. Then didnt talk to him for three years. She just couldn’t bare it. She was in love with him. But he didn’t know that. She didn’t think he cared either. She didn’t even realize that she still felt that way till middle school either. But it was all she ever thought about. Him, his smile, his kind words. She missed all of it. But thought she would never get it back. Till she decided to talk to him again. Then she was actually happy again.
Then all of a sudden when they hit middle school Marcelien decided being cool and being friends with some two faced girls was more important than being Jessabells best friend. So little by little she left Jessabell all alone once again. She even introduced Jessabell to who Jessabell considered Marceline’s replacment. She felt Marcelien was trying to replace her self so Jessabell wouldn’t get hurt when she actually left for good. Even though Marcelien left she still considered Jessabell her friend. Just she didnt consider her her best friend any more.
The longer it took the worse it was on Jessabell. She didn’t want to lose her best friend. But what could she do. Marcelien was leaving her all alone. And Luke was in a hole nother school (the high school so not exactly that far away) and she wouldn’t get to see him till she got to that school. Worst of all she heard from her long time friend Allison that Luke had a girlfriend. Jessabell couldn’t take it. She felt like she was going to explode. Not to mention it made it even worse when she talked to someone other than him. But she just couldn’t do that to him. She wanted him to be happy no matter what she felt. Even though it was killing her and driving her insane. But she bite her tongue. She needed him to be happy no matter what.
As Jessabell thought more and more about Luke the more questions, doubts, worries, and fears came out. She realized he might not feel the same as she did. She realized that he might laugh at her for telling him if he didn’t feel the same as her. So the longer she waited the the worse off she was. Day after day more fears came to light. Day after day she became more and more afraid to tell him. And the worse her fear became the more she considered it would be better to not tell him at all and to completely move on. But she knew she couldn’t move on no matter how hard she tried. Everyone she would date she could still only see her self with him. She would always think about him no matter what.
Her heart broke a little more everyday they were apart. Every moment they didn’t get to speak. Every moment that she thought about what could have been. Every time she ask herself why and what she had done to cause it. She was in love but couldn’t decide what to do. She loved him. But couldn’t decide if, when, or how she would tell him. She wished he would feel the same and just tell her. But she wasn’t lucky enough for that. She wished on stars, wishbones, dandelions, and she prayed to god every night. Luke was in all her dreams. All her hopes. And all she desired was to be with him forever. To live happy. To have her own little fairytale. Like the ones she read as a child. Where the princesses met their love and lived happily ever after. She wanted her happily ever after. But not with just any old prince or peasant. She wanted her fairytale, her prince, and her happily ever after. But she didn’t know if she would ever get it.
