In modern day society, there are 10 classes. They are the Fire Class, Water Class, Earth Class, Telekinesis Class, Healing Class, Flight Class, Speed Class, Mutant Class, Vampire Class, and Human Class. The strongest and most rare is the Fire Class, while the weakest and most common Class is the Human Class. If you are a part of the 25% of the population that is part of a Class besides the Human Class, you have powers related to that class.
Usually, people with powers become heroes, fighting crime and protecting the weak. Half-bloods - people with parents of two different classes - were thought to be a legend, but then Cyrus was born on September 27, 2011. The doctors were shocked. They thought he was going to die in the next 3 days. When he survived that period of time, they did a DNA test on Cyrus’s mother, Annalise Huxley, and on his father, Elijah Huxley. They were 98% accurate, indicating that the baby was indeed related to the young married couple.
"I-" The doctor stuttered in disbelief, "I can't believe this! The baby survived birth!"
Annalise started crying with joy, while Elijah gawked with horror.
"I can't have a son that's half blooded!!" Elijah shouted to no one. "I can't… I'll lose my reputation as a hero, and-and my job..!"
"Honey!" Annalise sobbed through tears of joy, not hearing what he said. She beckoned the nervous man over for a hug. "He survived! I can have a child with my husband! He can be ours! Unlike our other son, who is my step-son! I can have a child of my own!!"
Elijah pretended to be excited with Annalise, but in reality, he was terrified.
Since he's my child, Elijah thought while hugging his wife, he should have fire powers! I can just train him! They'll never know he's half-blooded! Then I can announce that I have another son! Yeah, I can just do that!
"B-before I discharge you," the doctor stuttered slightly, still shocked by Cyrus’s existence, "y-you should uh, you should know that if anyone finds out about him being a half-blood, he is probably going to live a pretty miserable life. I, uhm, I just wanted to warn you guys about that beforehand. H-here are the discharge p-papers, sir."
Elijah walked down the long, empty hallways and down the stairs of the hospital. The white walls were bare and the floor looked like it hadn't been cleaned for weeks. He sighed and looked at the signs pointing to where the receptionist was. The sign pointed to the left. When he got to another sign, it told him to go straight ahead. After a few minutes of wandering the long, empty hallways, Elijah finally got to the reception desk, tired from staying at the hospital for so long. He took out the discharge papers and took out a pen to sign it. He quickly signed the papers to release his wife and his newborn, half-blooded son.
The receptionist asked for his autograph, as everyone usually does. Elijah was the man who saved the most people in the entirety of Aspya. He's only 25, yet he has already made a huge name for himself as the number one hero. The receptionist looked at the discharge papers and smiled when he saw that a child related to him had been born
"Wow!" The receptionist smiled. "Another Fire Class! This is the 2nd day in a row that a child of that class has been born! We must be lucky, I guess! Especially if it's your child, Flamethrower!"
"Mhmm," Elijah replied simply to the young woman, not giving away any details as to what he was thinking.
He started to walk away.
"Oh!" The lady called out to him. "You forgot your car keys, sir!"
"Thank you, ma'am." Elijah replied, stone faced.
