The queen did not believe Meng Huo's words as she was sure that Han Xin had a finger in the unpleasant situation. Although the Kingdom of the East was partially responsible for the death of the eldest prince of the North, she couldn't bring herself to hate the East prince. The moment she saw him, she knew he was an innocent soul; therefore, she wanted to protect him from Han Xin's rage.

"Wu Xin, why don't you show the prince around?" she suggested to her son who was more than willing.

"Let's go!" Wu Xin led the way and Meng Huo obediently followed him out after getting his thick white cloak.

"How can you trust him with Wu Xin?" Han Xin asked with astonishment as he watched the disastrous duo walking towards the forest from the circular window.

"I am more worried about Meng Huo," she said with a knowing smile and after giving it a thought Han Xin nodded as his little brother was the devil's apprentice.

"I presume you want to talk to me," he said as he sat back across from her. When she declared that she and Wu Xin would stay for a few days, he knew that she didn't buy Meng Huo's lie, so he was waiting for her scolding.

"Yes darling," the queen nodded with a smile, "I know you are resentful and sceptical, and you have all the right to feel like this, but this matter is beyond us. The peace of our kingdom is at stake, so I wish you could be more careful with Meng Huo. I personally think he is the opposite of everything we heard about the East royalty, which is good news for us. If you give him a chance, I believe he has the potential to capture-"

"AARRGGGHHH!"

Hearing the loud shout of Wu Xin, the queen's words halted. They exchanged a quick glance before Han Xin ran out to find the little prince. As he saw them going towards the forest, he rushed in that direction and soon saw his step-brother on the ground while Meng Huo was standing a few steps farther than him with a thick branch in his hand.

The sight made Han Xin's blood boil with anger. He hastily closed the distance and pushed Meng Huo who fell to the frosty ground with the excessive force he applied.

A yelp escaped from Meng Huo's mouth while Wu Xin jumped on his feet.

"Ge, what are you doing?!" the little prince exclaimed as he rushed to Meng Huo's help.

"Saving you from the enemy, obviously!" Han Xin shouted back as he tried to understand why Wu Xin was helping the man who hurt him.

Hearing his brother's words, Wu Xin let go of Meng Huo's arm, making the latter grateful as his right arm hurt like hell.

"YOU MISUNDERSTOOD IT!"

"What?!" Han Xin shifted his gaze between his brother and kneeling Meng Huo as if the answer was on their faces.

Wu Xin puffed annoyed, it was typical behavior of his brother; first hit then ask. Glaring at his big brother, he explained "there was a wolf! I know they are common in the area, but seeing it in front of me, I got scared. Luckily, the prince chased it with a branch."

Han Xin was embarrassed to his very core. Itching the corner of his eye, he presented his lame excuse, "well, how could I know that? I saw you on the ground and he was towering over you."

"Silly ge! Why would the second ge want to hurt me?!"

"Okay, stop it," Han Xin said threateningly as he was abashed enough. He moved towards Meng Huo and ignoring his flinch, he grabbed his arm to help him on his feet, but the poor man yelped with pain.

"What's wrong?" Han Xin asked with worry, looking at his pained face.

"N-Nothing," Meng Huo lied, his eyes focused on the ground.

Wu Xin crouched down in front of Meng Huo to make eye contact, "tell ge if you are hurt," he urged the prince with a smile, signalling it was okay.

Meng Huo contemplated his choices for a second. In the East, he would be hurt more if he said he was in pain, but there was something reassuring in the little prince's smile. Also, Han Xin seemed genuinely worried, so it might be better if he just admitted that his shoulder joint was hurting like hell whenever they tried to move him.

"M-My shoulder..." he mumbled with a low voice, too afraid to look at Han Xin.

"Oh," Wu Xin was apologetic while Han Xin rubbed his face with irritation. How come he managed to hurt Meng Huo twice in only two days?

"Let me see," the bothered prince made Wu Xin move away before taking his place in front of the injured prince. Then he gently held his arm and moved it a bit, "your shoulder is dislocated, nothing serious," he explained and took out his handkerchief. Reaching it to the prince, he said "bite this, then I will put your joint back."

A flash of fear flashed through Meng Huo's black eyes, so Wu Xin patted his back softly, "don't worry, ge is really talented, he won't hurt you."

Han Xin nodded firmly to comfort the injured prince and in the face of caring gestures of the brothers, Meng Huo teared a bit. With a shaky hand, he got the handkerchief from Han Xin and put it into his mouth before closing his eyes.

"One... two..." Han Xin started to count, but before saying 'three', he put the shoulder back in place.

Meng Huo felt a slight pain with the move, but it was much less than he expected. He opened his eyes and saw Han Xin was smiling at him proudly.

"It was easy, right?"

Meng Huo moved his arm a bit and indeed, there was no more pain. "TT-hank you, my prince," he said with gratitude. Seriously, how come the North royalty was this nice?

"Don't thank me," Han Xin shook his head, "it was me who hurt you."

What?! The prince of the North apologized to a slave!!!!
