“Do you love me?” Jimin asks, your head was resting on his arm. His left hand was intertwined with yours. “What do you think?” Titling your body, you rest your face on your right palm. “I think you love me, not more than what I love you though.” Smiling victoriously he towers over you.

“Is it? How can you be so sure of it?” He grabbed your nape. Raising your chin up. “My love for you bloomed even before you could imagine.” Clasping your lips in his he deeply kissed you. Your arms hook onto his neck. Melting in his touch.

The door suddenly burst open frightening you both. Jimin angrily turns around to yell at the person. However, his words were stuck in his throat. An elder female dressed in royal attire stood there displeased.

Jimin sat back up, helping you sit as well. Your back rested on the headboard amending your ruffled hairs. You were confused as to who the woman was? She managed to shut Jimin up without even doing anything.

“Good evening mother.” He bowed to her getting off the bed. Bringing her in a warm hug. She was Jimin’s mother? You bowed to her standing beside Jimin. She ignored you, smiling at her son. “If you’re done pleasuring yourself, mind joining your mother for a meal?”

Her choice of words hurt you. “Yeah sure, me and Mi Amor would be joining you in a few minutes.” He pulled you closer to him by your waist. “So she’s your Queen?” Scanning your hull she rolled her eyes.

“Well what’s wrong with me?” You pondered disliking the fact, she was judging you without even taking the efforts to know about you,

Jimin's mother left the room, he scratched his neck. “I’m sorry, for her words. She loves me alot.” He apologised on behalf of his mother. “It’s fine.” No it wasn’t fine, will you tell him that though? The first meeting with your mother-in-law only to be insulted. “Come on, let's have dinner!” You walk to the dining hall.

The table was neatly arranged with all sorts of delicacies. Most of them were seafood. You weren’t a big fan of it. Fish and prawns were the most you could eat, also the food you’ve managed to eat since childhood. You sat in your usual seat beside Jimin.

“Jimin, I've asked them to cook your favourite squid dish.” Beaming at her son she filled his plate with his favourite. He liked squid? You didn’t know that. Come to think of it, neither of you knew much about each other’s food likings.

“What do you want Y/N?” In a strict tone she questioned. Gulping the lump forming up in your gullet you answer. “I don’t eat seafood, thank you.” She scowled, placing the spatula on the dish making you flinch.

“You’re a Queen now, not just any Queen. Park Kingdom’s Queen. My son Park Jimin’s Queen. Before marrying him, you should have left behind your old habits. How will he take you with him to any royal banquet? You can’t tell those people there you aren’t used to eating that specific food.”

Jimin rubbed your thigh under the table. Side eyeing you. He wasn’t aware of you not eating seafood, “Mother it doesn’t matter.” He tried to reason with the woman.

“You’ll obviously support your wife, I’ve heard a lot about her immorale behaviour. The atrocious tales of her having an affair. You broke the alliance with the Kingdom of Jeju for her? Look at what she has turned you into? An Henpecked Man.”

[Henpeck is a common idiom used to refer to a man who is blinded by his wife’s love. Basically, her slave.]

“I ended the alliance with a valid reason. Ah-rim had attempted to kill my wife.” He calmly explains. She scoffed, munching her food. You were eating eggs and rice. Without uttering a single word.
