“Are you serious?”
I had been distracted reading a book to Blanket. Okay, maybe that was my very personal attempt to not criticize Michael’s driving in front of the kids, but hey, I was making an effort here. Riley had urged me to be less critical and appreciate all the things he was doing by himself without staff now, and I do have to say, I am still amazed.  He had changed so much.  He was the man I had always needed him to be. The family man. The man taking my advice into consideration. The man who had pulled back out of the spotlight even when for a second earlier this year it had looked as if he would be seduced into a tour again.  Till I put my foot down- and he agreed.

So, while I tried to calm my inner control freak, I had totally zoned out. Till he stopped and I looked out of the car window.  And found myself in a long past nightmare.  One that also was the starting point to my biggest dream.

“I thought they should see the scene of the crime...”

No.  No one should.  It was a funny story.  When far away.  When not sitting outside the place in the parking lot. Nothing amusing about it now. And my face conveyed that message just fine.
 “You are absolutely insane!”

Michael turned and looked at me, starting to crack a smile.
“Come on! Live a little!”

“I intent to.Hence no exposing myself or the kids to scurvy and rabies. I agreed to drive by- but I am not getting out here.”

And really- I had thought he was kidding when he said he’d drive by the Travellodge.  I mean...How could I possibly assume he was going to do this?

“Daddy- why are we stopping here?”
Paris had asked the question, but the other kids also also looked slightly confused.  Only Prince smirked, leading me to believe that Michael had as usual made a co-conspirator out of our son.

“Don’t worry, Paris. I’m sure Daddy just wanted to switch off so I can drive back to the house.” I gifted him with a look he obviously found very amusing.  And he didn’t budge out of the driver’s seat.  Oh, he was so going to pay for this later!  If only his damn smile and emerging giggle weren’t so damn sexy.

Great Lisa...what is it about his place? Five seconds of sitting outside, and visions of throwing your panties into the snow are already dancing in your head.

“Because, this is where Lisa and I spent Christmas a while back, and before we are rolling back to the lodge to see get ready for Christmas Eve DInner, I thought we should stop here and maybe...”
