2 hours later:

My eyes tight shut, I try to picture Mathews arms around me, his emerald green eyes looking down at me and saying that everything will be ok. I slowly push open the door to the living room only to be welcomed to prying eyes staring at me transfixed.

At the corner of my eye, I see Claire, she seems so different now. For the fist time I can see clearly, the happiness clearly visible on her face. A small tear escapes my eye, rolling slowly down my cheeks. Instantly, I feel distant and isolated, as though everyone around me is fading away leaving me. First Mathew and now Claire. I start to run, trying to escape the overwhelming pain that is so consuming that I almost begin to realise the pain I caused, not only to myself, but to others.

Faster and faster I kept running, my pulse beating to an unnatural rhythm yet the exhilaration made me feel alive, free from the restrains of excruciating pain of a loss loved one.
All of a sudden, I find myself falling, falling, falling, with my fist clenched tight. I scream. Not due to being scared but of anger of not achieving the one goal that I solemnly vowed to myself, to bring justice to Mathew. That's what kept me going. With my eyes tightly shut, I awaited the impact that will prevail upon me. As I was waiting, I suddenly felt strong arms clinging on me, a protective barrier for a grave impact to the hard concrete ground.

As I slowly, lift my heavy lids to reveal my knight in shining armour, I thought I saw my Mathew, staring down at me, his face etched with worry. "Mathew! It's really you! I knew you wouldn't leave me." I notice that my voice was at a hysterical shrill. But I didn't care. It was my Mathew. My love, my stolen treasure come back to me. I hold on to him, fearing for the worst. "What if he leaves me again" I thought.

"Hi," the voice was sweet yet deep. I look up snapping back to reality. My husbands voice was so angelic, smooth without any hint of roughness added to his voice. I realise who this person really was. "Seth?"
